Dr. Vitaly V Piluiko, MD

At almost 80 years old, I was in excellent health, and I had never experienced any noticeable symptoms of heart disease - so you can imagine my shock at being told that my calcium score indicated that I had advanced heart disease placing me at increased risk of heart attack and stroke. A single stent was not sufficient to fully address my situation, so after a lengthy discussion with Dr Piluiko and his staff, my wife and I opted for bypass surgery rather than additional stents. Dr. Piluiko was very thorough in explaining the status of my disease, the recommended surgical procedure and the associated risks. These discussions were very much a collaborative effort among Dr. P. me, and my wife - and my wife and I made the final decisions. We had full confidence in Dr. P and his staff. The surgery went well with no complications, and I then spent a full week in the Memorial cardiac ICU before I could be released to the care of my wife. Throughout my stay in the ICU, Dr. P visited me… frequently to assess my progress and I must say that Dr. P’s team and the entire Memorial staff were very accommodating, very caring and very supportive. Our full confidence in Dr. Piluiko and his staff was well placed and never wavered. Our many thanks and great appreciation go out to Dr. Piluiko and his entire team. Dr. Piluiko and his entire team were very helpful in explaining my heart condition, how he was going to treat it, and what to expect. They included my wife in the sessions and Dr. Piluiko and his physician's assistant called my wife shortly after my surgery and helped minimize her anxiety. The valve repair has been effective and there were no problems with infection or separation of the frontal incision or the four tubes which had to be inserted.

Dr. Piluiko is an excellent, superbly trained and knowledgeable Surgeon, who saved my life. He was kind and compassionate throughout my stay in the hospital, he visited me everyday to check on my progress. Dr. Piluiko went above and beyond, to ensure my complete and total recovery.

My wife had a minimally invasive surgery on her valve by Dr. Piluiko. He is so pleasant, knowledgable. We simply had so much confidence in him. She has done so well despite that her overall state of health is not great. Thank you, Doctor.

Dr. Piluiko truly felt for me when I described my symptoms. Unlike others I visited before him, he really understood the nature of atrial fibrillation and suffering I was going through. I have had 2 prior ablation and spent a total of 13 hours in the cath lab at JFK and University of Miami. It did not work. Only after minimally invasive procedure with Dr . My mother is a lung cancer survivor. This is thanks to Dr. P. We went to our family doc, then lung doc and nobody cant tall us nothing.When we went to dr. P he saw her and did a lots of tests and said that she is a candidate for small incisions part of the lung removal. He explain everything so clear. My mother is a Dr. Piluiko's patient.He did her heart surgery. This was a very complicated surgery of heart valve repair and bypass. She did so remarkably well. She went home in 3 days. He was so cordial and attentive to us. He spent literally 1 hour talking to us before surgery. This day and age something like that just unheard off.I would recommend Dr. Piluiko to any one who needs help with heart problems.
