Dr. Vito John Calandro, MD

I can not recommend Dr. Calandro for the following reasons: - He is rude, both in his speech and actions when dealing with patients. - Unprofessional: has walked away from me as I was asking questions voicing concerns. -Unorganized: has twice consulted an old/incorrect CAT scan during my appointment - Support staff: (nurses and front office staff) are unpleasant/difficult to work with. He and his staff joked about me when I could hear them through the walls. When dealing with serious medical issues, it is important to feel your doctor is competent and invested, personally, in your health. Unfortunately, Dr. Calandro gave me the opposite impression. My concerns and questions were not acknowledged, much less resolved, and his lack of attention to CAT scans left me questioning his competence as a doctor. His blatant disregard for my personal feelings while joking about me confirmed that he did not care at all much less take anything seriously.

I've only had one appointment with this ridiculous person. I have 4 future appointments for multiple testing that I will be cancelling. I don't want to refer to him as a doctor (because he's a parody of one if anything) so ill just keep saying he. I don't know if he or his ENTIRE staff is aware but the walls are extremely thin is his office and patients can hear everything he and his ENTIRE staff is saying about us patients. They are all extremely rude, condescending, and unprofessional.

I have received EXCELLENT CARE since transferring to Dr Colandro. Previous associates were not as focused on my concerns and symptoms. Various office staff were inefficient and careless. Now things are running smoothly in outer office, professional and competent.

Dr. Calandro examined my husband and accurately diagnosed him just by listening to his heart. He fixed the problem and was helpful, informative and went way beyond caring and following up. He not only called after hours and talked to my husband but also to me as we adjusted medications and followed up making sure to get everything just right. He took us thru a scary time and saved my husband's life! We have been in his care for 10 years and I thank GOD we were referred to him because he has returned my husband's life to normal and we are confident we are in the best hands for his health! What is more important than your HEART! I am shocked by the negative reviews here because I could not disagree more. He is the best decision we have ever made and I really appreciate his care and concern and the time he has taken with us. Very Professional and very caring!

Don't ever ever ever trust your heart with this man or even his partner. South Denver cardiology is where you need to go! There physicians and staff are amazing!!!!!! I wish I could give 0 stars. This was the worst decision I ever made

Dr. Calandro is one of the most uncaring, unprofessional, conceited, abrasive, arrogant, and dishonest cardiologists I have met and been treated. He did not treat me with respect, courtesy and showed total lack of sensivities to both my medical and financial needs. He never called me once to explain why he was doing any specific medical procedure or process; although I called his office, Colorado Heart Clinic, many times. His pat reply through staff to my questions was standard of care without explaining what was that specific standard of care and how it applied to the queried procedure or process. I visited his office several times and he saw me on three occassion s in his office but never once did he greet me like a human being or even say "hello" are you being helped. His business and billing practices are deceptive and downright dishonest. He charges for time and work done by his subordinates as if he rendered the service. He charges for services that was rendered by the hospital… and bills it as if he rendered the services.At the first appointment which was made by is office about a month after my heart procedures at the hospital when his notes say to see him within 2 weeks. His office made the appointment and they refused to see me unless I paid them over $2,700 immediately or pay them $3,150 in three installments even when I disputed their over inflated bill which they gave me the afternoon before my appointment.I had to wait over 1 hour to try to resolve any issues but Calandro is inhumane, very unreasonable, unsympathetic and uncaring. All Dr. Calndro and the folks at Colorado Heart Clinic really care about is bullying and frightening patients to pay up exhorbitant fees and to pay over inflated bills. They are dishonest and unprofessional. They bring disrepute to the Medical Profession.
