If I could give Dr. Buddha negative stars, I would. What he did to me should have never occurred and if I can prevent at least 1 person from experiencing the pain and horror I experienced, I am willing to share my story.
I had the most traumatic and unprofessional dental experience of my life at Family Dental with Dr. Vivek Buddha, and I feel obligated to warn others. On April 10, 2026, I went in for a very specific issue: a broken filling in my lower wisdom tooth that had left a sharp, jagged edge cutting into my tongue every time I swallowed, talked, or even breathed. I clearly pointed to the exact tooth multiple times and explained my symptoms in detail. Despite this, Dr. Buddha never examined the tooth, never reviewed my X-rays, never asked about my symptoms, and ignored everything I said.
From the moment he walked in, he did not greet me, introduce himself, or communicate anything about what he planned to do. He simply told the assistant to prepare an extraction kit. I asked if… the tooth could be built up instead, and he bluntly said “no” with no explanation. I tried again to show him the wisdom tooth that was stabbing my tongue, but he did not acknowledge me. He numbed the wrong area of my mouth and left the room for about 15 minutes afterwards. By the time he returned, the topical numbing had worn off.
When he began the extraction, I immediately felt sharp, intense pain. I told him I could feel everything. He insisted it was “just pressure,” but it was not. It was severe, electric pain shooting through my jaw and face. I was crying, screaming, and begging him to stop, and I said “stop” at least ten times. He ignored every plea. He continued pulling while I was fully conscious of the pain. His grip slipped multiple times, hitting my upper teeth and causing even more trauma. I nearly passed out from the pain, but he still did not stop.
After the procedure, he offered no explanation, no apology, and no acknowledgment of what happened. He barely spoke at all. In fact, he only spoke after I asked for something for pain. He prescribed Naproxen, which did nothing for the pain, and dismissed me with generic aftercare instructions that did not match my situation. I left the office in shock, bleeding, and emotionally devastated.
The worst part came later: the tooth that was actually causing the problem—the wisdom tooth with the broken filling—was still there. He extracted the wrong tooth. The sharp edge is still cutting into my tongue even as I write this and now I am dealing with an unnecessary extraction site that is painful, swollen, and slow to heal.
Since this incident, I have experienced:
• Severe pain during and after the procedure
• The unnecessary removal of a healthy tooth
• Ongoing injury from the untreated wisdom tooth
• Difficulty eating, speaking, and swallowing
• Swelling, bleeding, and throbbing pain for days
• Emotional trauma from being ignored while in pain
• Fear and anxiety about seeking dental care again
I am still afraid to go to another dentist because of what he did to me. My mouth still hurts, but I'm too scared to go to another dentist right now. The emotional impact has been overwhelming. I trusted a professional to help me and instead I was dismissed, harmed, and left with more pain than I walked in with. No patient should ever be ignored while crying and begging for help.
I have since learned that I am not the only person who has been hurt by this dentist. Another patient’s family immediately knew who I was talking about when I described my experience—without me even saying his name. That alone speaks volumes.
What happened to me was not a misunderstanding or a simple mistake. It was negligence, disregard, and a complete failure to provide basic, humane care.
I am sharing my experience so others can make informed decisions and avoid going through what I endured. No one deserves to be treated this way, especially in a medical setting where trust, communication, and patient sa
