Dr. Vivek Iyengar, MD

I know I have never found a dermatologist/ surgeon who cares as much as Dr Iyengar. After my first visit, he called me a week later, stating he couldn’t stop thinking about my condition and found an oncologist he wanted me to see. I had already chosen a different lady oncologist at Good Sam, and he was glad, but very concerned as I had skin cancer from head to toe. I was seen at Mayo and Moffett, told I was 1 of 3 worst cases seen and before I told Dr I that, he quickly told me the same outlook and type of treatment. My next appointment I was placed w Dr Fiore( who was also excellent and funny) bc I was told Dr I only sees surgical appointments. Dr Fiore left the room and came back with Dr I. They both collaborated in agreement. Today I called for an appointment, and his staff called back 20 minutes later, stating Dr I wanted to move the appointment up. He will be collaborating with my oncologist. If it weren’t for him, pushing me, when so fearful of the treatment, I wouldn’t be… healing now. He was so kind, talked to me with care and compassion, willing to do anything to help me be more comfortable. In appointments prior, he moved with tenderness, trying to be so careful in exam, prior to numbing me for biopsies. I was in a lot of pain, already being treated by a great pain Dr, for a painful disease, CRPS 2:, only escalating my skin cancer pain, having so many lesions. I cannot say enough, to recommend Dr Iyengar. He truly treats his patients like a human being, not just another patient. Having been a Quality Administration Nurse for years, auditing Drs, clinics, hospitals, this wonderful Doc gets 10 STARS!!!

Condescending and haphazard. Don’t bother

I went to Dr. Iyengar for a blepharoplasty and couldn't be more thrilled with the results. In addition to great results, the procedure was easy, relatively painless, and healed quickly and without issue. He was very responsive to be personally both before and after, answering all of my questions promptly and was invested in the results. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Has zero knowledge about how skin works

Dr. Iyengar is pretty amazing. I had two moles on my face that I was VERY nervous about having removed because I didn't want ugly scars. He put me at ease, removed the moles quickly and painlessly, and I can no longer see evidence that they were ever there. I have no scars whatsoever. His after-care instructions were clear and easy to follow, and I'll certainly be going back to him for any future dermatological needs.

Wont go back

Not sure about all these other reviews but I just had a lipoma removed from my arm. He came in...went over everything, he even joked that my appointment was at 11:30 and he was walking in the room right at 11:30, says that doesn't happen. Which is true, doctors are always behind. Numbed me up and left for a few. Came back and did his job. He was nice and walked me through the procedure. He spoke nicely to the nurse in there that was helping. Never felt I was being rushed...or never thought he was rude. He did tell me I would have a scar which I figured. It will lighten up over the years but it is what it is. When he was stitching me up I had a "zinger" it felt like electricity going through my arm. It hurt so bad. He apologized and as tears ran down my cheek he wiped it. Wasnt his fault, this set of stitching was deep down. He hit a nerve. I get it. But ouch. Wiping my check was very nice.
