I've been a patient of Dr. Patils for almost 10 years and he's always been the same. Attentive, very easy to talk to, a great sense of humor and listens.

I know everyone researches doctors, but I can tell you no one researches more them me, especially when looking for a surgeon who would be inside my body, possibly making split second life and death decisions, not to mention quality of life afterwards. A skilled, competent, accomplished specialist was on the top of my list, so search no more. You wonâ??t find a more skilled Colorectal Surgeon in the Washington, Metropolitan area. Dr. Patil is not only terrific, he is incredibly compassionate, he listens intently, doesnâ??t rush you through your consult. He is so patient, answering questions more than once so you thoroughly understand the process. Iâ??m not an easy patient; I came prepared with questions for every worst case scenario and he calmly reassured me by his answers, I knew that was in good hands. Mind you I am old enough to be his Mother, so if you are my age, donâ??t let him being young deter you from choosing him. The older surgeons, although accomplished in their fields… for many years, canâ??t learn what the newest surgical techniques. Itâ??s just a reality. The day of my surgery, it was also comforting to be told by the surgical nurses that I had chosen â??the bestâ?? not only incredibly skilled, but just the nicest surgeon they work with. That was an ongoing theme during my four days of recovery in the hospital. All the nurses echoed the same sentiment about how great he was both a great Doctor and a person. Dr. Patil visited after surgery and took time with me, and every day thereafter. Even when I returned home, Michelle his PA, followed up to see how I was doing. FYI my brother n law had the same surgery years ago in NYC and he was out of work for two months, I however was able to work two weeks post op from home. So if you are looking for a great surgeon, look no further.

I had a laparoscopic sigmoid colorectomy. This was my first major surgery ever. I was given two recommendations, and as soon as I talked with Dr. Patil, I knew I wanted him. He is very easy to talk with, he listens to you without interrupting or giving any indication that you have to be rushed out for another patient, and he looks you in the eyes. His staff were pretty amazing, too -- both while I was in the hospital and then for my post-op follow up. My entire experience with Dr. Patil was tremendous, and I would recommend him to anyone needing colon surgery of any kind.

I had a partial colectomy one week ago. It was done by Dr. Patil. I was very nervous about it because I am a healthcare provider and " know too much"! It could not have gone more smoothly and Dr. Patil was there every step of the way! I used to tease him about how young he was, but he did an awesome job and I will be forever grateful. Do not hesitate to go to him. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, not to mention a great surgeon!
