Dr. Vivek Trivedi, MD

Went to see this doctor for help maintaining my chronic pain due to a motorcycle accident 14 years ago which left me disabled. My doctor was not going to be handling pain care any longer so I was actually referred here by my doctor. I am very disappointed with this doctor's mannerisms and lack of concern for patients. He would not let me speak or show him the x-rays that I had brought with me. He asked the questions and was told I could ask my questions at the end once he was done. Very rude he did not want to hear any of my explanations. He had me perform a couple of resistant movements. He advised at this time that he would start with injections in my spine, no medical marijuana, and he would give me pain medication. I tried to explain why I did not need injections and he did not want to hear from me. I kindly declined his recommendations. First, my main concern is not my spine, so why would I take this risk of injections? Second, I use medical marijuana for emotional… issues. Last he based this diagnosis upon those movements he had me do in his office there were no x-ray or MRI images for him to make this diagnosis.

I totally agree with both of the reviews posted so far. If you deal with chronic severe pain that rehab or injections don't help, dont go here. He is not concerned about your quality of life. He is only concerned about how many epidurals he can give you. He will not give you enough pain medication to control your pain. He may be afraid of all the restrictions involved with prescribing pain medication. If so, he should not be in this business. The feeling you get is that he thinks you are trying to abuse the drugs and he won't prescribe anything strong enough to get you addicted. What a joke. To people with chronic severe pain addiction is the last of their worries.

Let me 1st say that Dr Trivedi's staff is amazing, but the same cannot be said about him. I've been going here for 3 years and I'm done. I have a myriad of severe chronic pain conditions (some of which or either incurable or cannot be operated on) that cause me excruciating pain 24/7. I can barely function and I'm in my early 30's. My range of motion and activities are very limited and I can't even work. All Trivedi has ever wanted to do is give me epidurals, nerve block injections, and trigger point injections... NONE of which work AT ALL anymore. I'm 1/2 out of my mind with pain. For whatever reason (that he refuses to share) he refuses to put me on any stronger narcotic or dose of narcotic that would ACTUALLY work! IT'S A PAIN CLINIC. THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO DO since that's the only place you can get meds like that now by law. Let me add that I have never been on any narcotics before at any other pain clinic. Personally (and I'm NOT the only person who thinks so. I've been… asking around) I feel like he wants to keep you in enough pain so that you need his shots bc he gets paid hundreds of dollars for every single shot he gives people. I truly feel it's all about money and not at all about patient care. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE if you want a dr that is willing to do EVERYTHING there is to do for you and who actually CARES about his patients' suffering, not just what is best for his wallet. Now if shots really help you and you don't want or need pain meds, then he's your guy. Just remember that injections eventually stop working, which is what happened to me.

This is a one treatment fits all doctor .He is more concerned with the amount of medication you take, rather than finding a treatment plan that controls your pain so that you no longer need large amounts of oral medication .He goes in and out of treatment rooms like it is an assembly line,
