I really think they are taking in too many patients per day. Tell patients you are all booked up and let them be seen by someone else. 2 hours for a scheduled appointment is unacceptable. Also cutting corners by not hiring extra staff to help with all the responsibilities in that office is not good.

unprofessional doctor and staff. keeps you waiting well past your appointment. staff doesn't answer the phone..it just rings or you are put on hold indefinitely until you just hang up. if you do get to leave a message dr never calls you back. no one seems to like their job, patients or the office. I am going to find a new PCP after 15 years. My time needs to be respected the same way I have always respected yours.

do not go if you have a serious illness

Every single time I have an appointment I wait atleast an hour before I'm seen. Usually it's about 20-30 minutes in the lobby and another 45 minutes or so in the room. It seems like they don't have a good system for seeing patients in a timely manner. For example, when I go in for a prescription refill I wait an hour and a half just for her to be in the room with me a grand total of 2 minutes. It's rediculous. And if there is something wrong with the script good luck getting it fixed. I was in the office still when the pharmacy called and said they did not have my medication in stock and the doctor needed to send it to a different location. So I put them on speaker so they could tell the MA. Even though I was still in the office they refused to just go tell her what happened and have her send it real quick. They insisted on sending her a freaking EMAIL! I left and went home and called for 6 hrs and they blew me off and said they would call back and never did like 5 times. They then… lied and said they sent it in then hung up on me. After finding out then never actually did it I tried calling back and they ignored my calls until the office was closed. On Wednesdays the office is closed for some reason so I didn't get my script for 2 days after all this happened. This always happens. Literally no organization in this office, they don't care about the patients, it seems like they only care about seeing as many as they can in one day to rack in the money.

I liked the Dr. but after five years I finally gave up! No one answers the phone! I called multiple times a day for over a week, finally called answering service and got a call back next day. Hard to make an appointment, the wait is usually 1.5 to 2 hours when you do go in. Recently I called for a lab request to Lab Corp was told we don't do business with them any longer so she gave me two options Sonoran Quest or Cienna neither excepted my insurance after me driving from far NW side of town to west side then to east side. I called the office and the girl yelled at me "you picked the labs not me"! I informed her to cancel my appointment for the next day and to tell Dr. I would not be coming back to her. She hung up on me. I've had the same insurance for the 5 years of going to her! The staff doesn't have any regards for the patients and Dr. hasn't called me back so I'm to believe she doesn't care if I come back or not!

Unfortunately I have not been impressed with Dr Castillo. There have been some improvements over the years. It used to be that no one ever answered the phone (except for the sweet gal that set the appointments) and no one ever returned calls. Now it is likely that you will catch someone at least by your third call, and calls tend to be returned. The doctor is really harsh towards her staff (who appear to be trying hard to run around and get things done). It is uncomfortable to hear people treated as they are in this office. She is, however, kind to her patients. After years of trying to ignore these issues, though, I will find a new doctor (and recommend that others not come here). Health insurance seems to have very little coverage these days. Deductibles are sky high. The one gleaming benefit I have (with United) is free preventable care. No copays for an annual exam, flu shot (or other vaccinations), and birth control coverage. Unfortunately this office is unwilling to… bill correctly and to allow us these benefits. If you go in once a year and have your annual physical and get a flu shot, you will be billed $54.95 after insurance (because you got your flu shot, by a tech by the way, not the doctor, at the time of your annual appointment with the doctor). If you have your annual exam at the same time you ask to have your b.c. refilled (mind you, this is no change, same stuff been using for years, you're not asking what options there are, benefits and issues with them, nothing like this, not so much as a change in pharmacy... just simply saying you need a refill), then guess what? $54.95. Somehow I thought there was a law REQUIRING zero copays for b.c. hmm. Dr Castillo's office must have missed that, even though it made very many headline news stories... So I called United. They agreed that these service should have been covered fully. They called Castillo's finance lady (who by the way also thought this should have been covered as an annual physical, notice a trend here?) with me on the line. She asked the doctor if they could correct the billing to be a physical, but she was told "nope." United was able to help cut the bill in half by covering more since it was all done on the same visit... But I'm still stuck with half the bill. I am also writing my insurance a complain and requesting they remove her as a preferred provider since she apparently is unwilling to bill correctly. So unless you are dying to pay $28 for your flu shot AFTER you make 3 phone calls and complain and waste your time (if you're too busy to hustle the finance lady and your insurance, you can just hurry and write the $54.95 check) please find a more suitable doctor.

Wow is all I can say. I was hung up on 4 times,and finally gave up. The atmosphere in this dirty little office is at best RUDE! The nurses,receptionist, and yes this includes Dr Vivian Castillo .

Set up a new patient appointment for 3 pm. Got there early, filled out paperwork. Sat for an hour before making it to a room only to sit there for 45 minutes! Asked twice how long it was going to be, said they would check, never did! I heard the dr twice in the hall outside my room chit chatting away! Their conversations were not work related! Very unprofessional dr and staff! Probably cost me $35 dollars, but I walked out!

Have been with Dr Castillo for several years She goes thru staff like a revolving door- To get scripts refilled that takes an "act of congress " Dr will complain to patients about her staff, at every visit. you have a scheduled visit and you'll be there a 2 hours. before you're seen We're DONE

This dr is VERY RUDE and is a cold hearted person who abuses her staff and makes her patients wait and takes 3 hour lunches! This Woman should not be a DR i was misdiagnosed and treated so HORRIBLY! I hope this does not happen to anyone else
