Dr. Vivien Oates Tucker, MD

I have been Dr. Tucker's patient for over 20 years going back to when she was at Gateway before opening her own office. I followed her to Darmstadt even though almost an hour drive due to the fact she is such an awesome physician. When you find a good Dr. you stick with them, which is what I am doing. Thank you Dr. Tucker for seeing me through some tough healthcare situations.

I wanted to give this doctor the benefit of the doubt, in spite of bad reviews. On the first visit, I kind of thought she wasn't understanding my information on the chart, but wanted to hold a positive thought. I needed to call the office for a piece of advice, and it became obvious she did not do this. She didn't want me as a patient, and I suspect that privileged doctor/patient information was talked about between some of her staff and my previous doctor. It was mentioned that one of the nurses was friends with this doctor. I am guessing that things I told in confidence was repeated. Isn't this illegal? I just wanted to find a good family doctor, and depended on someone else's advice.

She is personable and friendly. I've never had a bad experience on any appointments to see her. She is a great listener and very caring. I like her a great deal. She does tend to run behind on keeping on time, but overall she is a very good physician.

Terrible experiene with this physician. Every visit I experienced extreme wait times. I would be taken to a room right away, however it would be close to an hour before I would ever see the doctor. Once I did see her it was a very brief time and she never seemed to actually listen to me. Once she got a nurse practioner, I assumed the wait time would lessen. That was not the case and then I had to see that person and start all over with my history and let her try to understand and go through all the things I had already been through with the doctor. Do they not have my chart?? They changed front office staff as well and the new staff was rude and very unhelpful anytime you called. They sent my information to several incorrect doctors attempting to make a referral to a specialist and seen no problem with this.

This doctor does not do things in a professional manner. Recently I had a scheduled yearly physical with Dr. Tucker. I had blood drawn a week in advance and after three attempts to draw blood they were successful. I am a breast cancer survivor so I know it should not take three attempts to get the needed blood. I arrived for my appointment the next week and went through the normal procedures.... Weight, height, urine sample, blood pressure, heart rate and disrobing for the exam. A nurse knocked on the door and asked if I wanted an EKG. I WAS SHOCKED! Why would she asked this? I told her I was there for a yearly physical and I didn't think my insurance would pay for an EKG. She left and then returned asking me the same question. I told her I didn't want the EKG. She told me I would need to check with my insurance carrier about what was covered. I told her the yearly check up was covered. She left and when she returned for the third time, she informed me that Dr. Tucker refused to see me… and I needed to go to a mec center for my check up. Now let me understand this.... I was refused my exam because I didn't want an EKG! Is this a doctor that practices good medicine or....... You decide! I will not return! As a follow up on this, I need to mention my problems with this doctor last year. I had an even worse experience with my bloodwork. My appointment with the doctor didn't really get completed since I was left sitting in a gown for 1 1/2 hours and there wasn't even time for the exam. After that ridiculous appointment I was billed for the wrong things. I was told it was a coding error but it was NEVER CORRECTED. This office is very unprofessional and I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.

Has been a awesome doctor to me for over 15 years, helps you take responsibility for your health.
