Dr. Vlad Kononchuk, MD

I feel that he is very genuine and down to earth, really cares about patients and wants to get them better; I find him to be professional but yet not at all stuffy, just makes me very comfortable. I know he is extremely busy but yet I don't feel like I am "just another patient" as he knows me so well. I usually don't write reviews, but I've come such a long way over the past few years that I felt like saying a big thank you around this Thanksgiving!

I saw this doctor years ago and instead of telling the people who admitted to physical abusing me right in front of him why they should not do that, he called my resentment a "grudge", which is bad enough on its own, but this was the first person I told about this abuse because I was tired of them blaming me for everything they did not want me to be. I never broke the law and I always minded my own business and they still complained about me constantly. For some reason, none of that meant anything to this genius doctor. I have no respect for this loathsome pile of garbage. I would call him a clown, but I do not want to insult clowns.

I've been seeing Dr. K for a few months now and really can't ask for any better. Love the evening hours so I can go straight after work (and he's seen me pretty late a couple of times which was very convenient) and not have to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seen. I don't feel rushed, he is down to earth and easy to talk to, doesn't push meds on me if I want to stay on less medication, explains things in a simple way, says it like it is and makes sure I stay on a healthy path. He doesn't try to get me to come in more often that I need to which I appreciate (my old doc made me come in monthly which didn't make much sense to me). So I really can't ask for more and would recommend him highly.

very caring dr... "old school" and I mean it in a good way - really seems to care, listens, doesn't rush you out the door.... there is a sense of warmth which I think means a lot; but he also calls me out on my problem behaviors which I appreciate as I know he pays attention to what's going on with me

just great care , he really goes the extra mile to make sure you get the best treatment possible... so rare these days. Not sure why it says location is Bellerose, he is located in Dix Hills.

We went to the office in Dix Hills location (not sure why it says Bellerose)... he connected with my kid well, was easy to talk to and get hold of, explained everything about meds, really seems to care, referred to a great therapist, doesn't try to bring you back for an appointment more often than needed as I've seen others do - what more can you ask for

The most important things to me are that I trust him completely and know that I can always reach him if needed. I don't have to go through a secretary and wait for days for someone to not call me back. You just feel like you are in good hands.

I was so happy to find this doctor. He called back right away, it was easy to schedule an appointment, always returns my calls promptly. He is easy to talk to, definitely knows what he is doing, is conservative with medications but got me on the meds that definitely helped me. And he doesn't only prescribe meds like many others, but helped me sort through my stressful life situations and gave me guidance with my child's issues. Visits are at least 30 minutes so you don't feel rushed.

Although he is not "cheap" (but still quite affordable and reasonable), after seeing so many other people where I had to wait for an appointment in a crowded waiting room for an hour and then never be able to reach my doctor when needed, I really appreciate having NO wait time and having someone who is so accessible when there is need. He's also given me some very key guidance on handling my child's issues and helped with the school situation. Right on the money with meds and therapy recommendations, says it like it is, but is also very humble and accommodating.

As a young adult struggling with ADHD and anxiety for many years, I was so happy to find this doctor after seeing so many others. He really gets me and is just so easy to talk to and is always available for me if needed. After my medication changes, I am feeling so much better already. He also recommended a great therapist for me.
