Dr. Vladimir Markovic, MD

After experiencing some pretty dramatic mood swings along with a host of physiological symptoms last summer, I started seeing a counselor who suggested that I get blood work done to rule out PMDD. I had it done at the office of Dr. Markovic and was called back in to review my results. I was seen by a Nurse Practitioner who said everything looked normal except that I was dehydrated. I told her that was strange because I’d had multiple glasses of water that day and was a compulsive water guzzler; she replied that folks often don’t drink as much water as they think they do and to try harder, then she dismissed me. My counselor suggested I go back for more specific thyroid-related bloodwork so I did. This time I was seen by Dt. Markovik himself. When the nurse was briefing him in the hallway I could clearly hear them mocking me through the door and insinuating that I was wasting their time. When I called back for my results the receptionist hurriedly told me that everything looked normal.… My symptoms continued to worsen and when I finally got up the courage to get a second opinion from a different doctor who also gave me a blood test, she reported that my adrenals are way out of whack and that I am critically low on certain nutrients and enzymes, all this causing the dehydration, mood swings, weight gain etc. Thank goodness I finally found a good Doc, but it was not great experience with Dr. Markovik and his Norfolk office.

Even as a resident he was a realist with a calm and intelligent approach to health issues, well capable of assessing puzzling health challenges.
