Dr. Voula Asimacopoulos

I was a first time patient to the facility. I arrived to my appointment right on time. I would have arrived earlier however we were under a winter storm warning and the road conditions were really bad. Upon arriving they told me that the dr. would not see me. Since I was a new patient they wanted me there 30 minutes prior, which I understand but that was not communicated. Additionally if they wanted me there 30 minutes prior they should have just made my appointment for 30 minutes prior. I asked several times if they could just squeeze me in. Even if it wasn't for the full 30 minutes or a full physical, just to chat with the doctor and the answer was no, the dr. would not see me. I also explained that I had taken off work to come to this appointment and that I would be traveling so getting in for another one would be really difficult but nobody seemed to care. From what I have read she is a great dr. which is really disappointing because I do really want to see her. However, if she is… this unwilling to accommodate patients I am a little hesitant. Unfortunately I have an HMO and she is my selected dr. so now I have no choice but to make another appointment with her.

Dr A spends a considerate amount of time with me addressing my medical concerns. I have been a patient with her for years and appreciate all she does to ensure I am maintaining my wellness. I would recommend her to any of my family members or friends.

It is impossible to get a sick apt with this MD. I have been a patient for 3 yrs and never had success. They always try to push me to another MD that I didn't like because he doesn't listen and lectures about over use of antibiotics even though no one asked for an antibiotic and he has a chart in front of him that should indicate that I am not a frequent user of antibiotics. Well appts take months to get. The practice is poorly run, the set up is bad with shared reception with other offices and clinic. Billing is a nightmare and I have waited up to 5 days for them to call in RX refills which they then try to blame on the pharmacy. "Please", "thank you" and "I'm sorry" are words never spoken by staff but "take a seat", "we'll call you" and "we're very busy" roll right off the tongue. Too bad because I really liked her. I decided to travel 1.5 hours to U of Chicago Hospitals where the staff is more professional

Dr. Asimacopoulos has a wonderful bedside manner (aka interpersonal communication skills). She is very popular, so naturally it has been my experience that it takes a while to get an appointment with her. I really appreciated that she listened to me, wasn't rushed, and very knowledgably answered my questions. I have great faith in her skills.

A fantastic doctor who is caring, compassionate, listens, and tries to help. A total dream come true. But that is also a bad thing. The doctor suffers from her own success taking on too many patients that the average wait time is 1-3 months to get in. If you are a patient suffering from multiple conditions or serious issues, chances are you will wind up in the ER under surgery having parts of you removed by total strangers before you get a chance to figure out what is going wrong. I worry that too much of a good thing in this case leaves many really sick patients waiting out in the cold. A real fight to see her.

Dr. A is compassionate, and cares about the whole of us. She is knowledgeable and will refer when she believes it is in our best interests. would recommend her.

Dr. A is a very compassionate and knowledgable physician. She made the right diagnosis and gave me the best available treatment for my condition.
