Dr. W Robert Prouty, MD

We went for a sick visit for my preschool aged son. Dr. Prouty seemed entirely unfamiliar with the information I had provided to the nurse at the start of the visit and entirely uninterested in hearing the facts directly from me. He presented a diagnosis that was frankly impossible given the information and timeline I insisted on sharing with him. When I pointed that out, he changed his diagnosis slightly. Both these were incorrect, as we found out on a follow up visit with my son's primary care physician. Dr. Prouty's misdiagnosis meant that an infection went untreated longer than necessary and therefore took longer to cure as well. I believe if he had bothered to listen and have any interest in the patient or the visit, it would have increased the chances of getting it right.

Bedside manner is lacking. Does not seem to care to listen to critical information from parent. Has misdiagnosed my child on multiple occasions and shows zero compassion. Time to retire.

Simply would not recommend this physician based off of one sick visit. Did not exude a caring bedside manner which, in my eyes, is crucial in pediatrics.
