Dr. Waheed Akhtar

I have been treated by Dr. Akhtar for over 20 years, and have found him to be an excellent cardiologist and a caring physician. He is willing to spend time answering questions. His staff have been most responsive, especially his nurse Amy. Highly recommend for specialty cardiac care.

my husband was seen in hospital an echo and stress test done before even reviewing the echo send a resident in to tell my husband to start a heart med asked if the echo was read was told no then asked why he needs the pill resident states dr. says he needs to needless to say never made follow up with him saw another excellent cardiologist in town who told him based on echo not to take pill. got a bill for dr. visit and never saw the dr. crazy !

I was this doctor in 2013 on a Thursday morning told him I had been having chest pains fir about a week,listened to my heart said everything was alright sent me home.two days later had a massive heart attack.thanks

My grandfather went to this doctor. He prescribed medicine to him for his heart that caused him to go into diabetic shock because it reacted with his sugar pills. He waited a long time and never did anything to help my grandpa until he had a heart attack then my grandpa needed open heart surgery that was much overdue. My grandpa lost over 100 lbs throughout his visits to this doctor and never did anything about it. When they visit they go at 2 and don't get out till 6, not because the exceptional treatment but because the wait in the waiting rOom.
