Dr. Waldeck Charles, MD

I never realized all the past negative situations had molded my adult life and right when I was about to do right, my PTSD was holding me down. I never knew that PTSD was my issue. After 22 years I was finally able to write my book and get it published. This man saved my life, he help raise me out of a learned negative consequence, facing demons became easy and I finally verbalized my abuse and the abuse I witness that others close to me endured. Prescribed a medication for me that was contraindicated due to an existing medical condition. I later called his office to tell him about this and asked for a return call. Instead he called my pharmacy and cancelled one of my prescriptions he was refilling and left his to be filled. He never returned my call. He is very difficult to understand. Several times I had to have him write down what he was trying to say.

Called me by the wrong name after I corrected him. Did not read my chart or medical info. Waited for 1 hr in waiting room, no other patients. Refused to prescribe me the life saving meds I have been on for 7 years. These were prescribed by two separate highly respected drs and are the only meds that work for me, after trying 15+ other meds. Extremely hard to understand, heavy accent. Did not review my 20+ years of medical history before informing me he would not refill my meds, as I did not need them. No scrambling to find a new dr before I run out of meds. Waited 3 weeks for appt at office 1 hr from my house. I have been in the hospital and have had 4 other drs completely agree with my prescriptions. I am so upset that he has caused such turmoil over medication it has taken me 20 years to find and is the ONLY thing that keeps me out of the hospital. The worst medical experience of my life.

Dr charles is very knowledgeable and understanding. He has lots of experience and is prudent, does not just doll out medication. He speaks with an accent ( I think it is French) but I have seen him for years and it is not a problem for me.

Diagnosis was not made clear, time spent 5 minutes for each appt., when 30 to 60 minutes was paid for by insurance. I would not recommend this Dr.
