Dr. Lyerly helped is when other Dr.s failed and we are so grateful for his expertise, kindness and compassion. He is responsive, and always willing to go the extra mile to help us before crisis happens. Telehealth appointments have been a great addition to the practice as well.

Dr. Lyerly has been caring for our daughter since she was in elementary school (she is now in high school). He is responsive, kind, and engaged. Dr. Lyerly prescribed medication and adjusted the dosage, to meet our daughter's evolving needs as she physically and mentally matured. We highly recommend Dr. Lyerly.

I have seen many doctors, but Dr. Lyerly is the best. He is clearly knowledgeable and thorough. He helped me when no one else could. I would highly recommend.

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a doctor of any kind. After meeting with my adult son for less than 45 minutes, and with me for less than 10 minutes, this doctor, without any explanation whatsoever, immediately began talking about putting my son on meds for anger management. My son does get angry, but remarkably little considering what he's been through, and is able to control it. I immediately asked why we were suddenly talking about medications when I'd brought my son in because I wondered if he was high functioning autistic. He explained that the anger was due to his autism. So in less than an hour, he apparently had concluded my son is autistic, even though I had clearly explained other very possible causes for my son's behavior. Nor was there any discussion whatsoever of anxiety, which I felt could be the root of my son's issues, not autism. Fortunately, I'd read enough about this stuff to know there are specific tests that competent practitioners… would perform before making a diagnosis. This doctor seemed completely unaware of this, and in any event, there is no way that it is okay in this day and age to make this kind of diagnosis having spent less than an hour with a patient. I asked about strategies to deal with it other than medication. He very dismissively said he'd get his support staff to look into it. He also made some comment that was a huge red flag about how my son was already seeing a therapist, so he figured all we should ask him to do is supply some drugs. He didn't seem to understand that there is an entire school of thought on how communication training may be all it takes to help an adult who is on the spectrum. I do not know whether to be more angry or more alarmed, but I did think this warranted alerting other people.

This doctor has done a great job regulating our son's ADHD medicine and has helped our autistic son perform at the optimal level in and outside of school. Very good listener and checks in on the patient's progress.

My teen daughter is under Dr. Lyerly's care and I feel lucky to have such a talented and responsive doctor managing her care. He has a calm, open disposition; is a good listener, and provides thoughtful feedback. Unlike the majority of psychiatrists, he responds to messages promptly and will not let you fall by the wayside (if you forget to follow-up regularly, he'll be sure to check up on you!). He's a professional and kind doctor--definately a solid choice for a child psychiatrist.

Had an appt that I had to cancel - which we did 2 days before. When I called back to schedule, I called and left messages at his office 4 TIMES. And never once could get a call back. We imagine it was due to the cancellation. I consider it not only a horrid way to manage a business, but completely unkind and insensitive to the kinds of issues a patient might have that would impede their keeping an appt. Odd to have a cancellation policy and then be so upset when it is used.

I've had a great experience with Dr. Lyerly and he has significantly helped me manage my medication and diagnoses. He is thorough and makes you feel heard. He pays attention and notes everything you say which I appreciate. I highly recommend him.
