Dr. Walter Louis Bender JR., MD

I have just read three reviews for Walter Bender and am somewhat astonished. I have been seeing this incredible nephrologist for many years. He is such a good listener and very patient to explain everything in easy to understand terms. He turns his computer to the patient and goes over each and every test he ordered on the previous visit. Only one time was he a bit late on the appointment and he explained he took extra time with a patient who was losing her vision and had just lost her husband !!! That's just the kind of compassionate doctor he is and anyone who sees him is very fortunate to be in his care.

Dr. Bender is an excellent nephrologist. He prepared me for dialysis and has seen me all the way through a kidney transplant. He is quite diligent when keeping track of my lab reports. He is a doctor that learns and cares about you and your health and always listens to you. His office staff gets back to you if you have a problem or question. He is a very kind and caring gentleman.....doctor.

The staff at Kidney Associates have been extremely courteous, helpful and kind. They have helped me solve problems with Medicare, Apria and insurance companies. Sometimes it takes time to solve the problem but they have never given up on the problem until it was resolved.

i waited for almost 2 hours before he finally showed up he was distracted and then tried to cover it up by being extra nice almost flirtatious he didn't seem to even care about my kidney pain and wouldn't talk about it just said come back in 3 or 6 or 9 months or just whenever he was recommended by a patient then i found out that patient no longer sees him i guess she almost died she doesn't recommend him anymore because of it and says stay away i was really bummed by the whole experience, just sayin

I would never go to this doctor or ever send a loved-one to this doctor or any of his associates or to DCI which he is affiliated with. He seems only to be concerned with his statistics and anyone that doesn't fit his criteria may be dropped. He failed me in many areas as did DCI and his associates and I know of many others who feel the same way but are afraid to talk about it for fear of retaliation. I would stay away from him, his office, his clinic, his affiliated dialysis centers and request a different set of nephrologists if I ever landed in the hospital where he has privileges. This is just my opinion based upon my personal experiences with them. BE SAFE!!

I personally would not now nor at any time in the future recommend Dr. Walter Bender to any patient current, past or present. Nor would I recommend any of Dr. Bender's colleagues at Kidney Associates nor his affiliation with DCI nor any of their clinics in which Dr. Bender and his associates are involved with, including but not limited to nurses, techs, dietitians and Administrators of such. He can charm you into thinking you are getting the best of care. If Dr. Bender's and/or DCI's clinical statistics are involved your health could be in jeopardy. In my experience he does not address many comorbidity issues including but not limited to hyperparathyroidism, bone disease, heart disease, cleanliness, hospitalizations, surgeries, treatments and has not been willing to look at different medicines if the ones he's used to prescribing do not work for a specific patient...they are merely out of luck.
