Whether it’s a single restoration or a more comprehensive full mouth rehabilitation, I create for my patients the “smile liftâ€, natural looking teeth that are meant to complement the natural facial symmetry. Great aesthetic enhancement has to be performed with great planning and precise execution.
An area that has improved in dental needs is laser dentistry with the introduction of different types of lasers, for dental treatment such as periodontal care and removal of carious lesions (decay). The laser cleans out the cavities with minimal tooth removal and the area is cleaned and sterilized and most of all anesthetic may not be necessary for these types of procedures. I also use lasers to perform gum sculpting and also for implant treatment which includes the preparation of the area for bone grafting. Another laser that is used very often is the decay-finding laser which utilizes fluorescent technology to detect and diagnose unseen and improbable …tooth decay.
One of the greatest breakthroughs in dentistry has been the introduction of an advanced computerized system and milling unit called CEREC. It offers
patients the option of having a high-end restoration at the same visit without the need for temporaries or discomfort of any postoperative sensitivity due to the seating of the restoration the same day. My patients love the fact that they don’t have to come back for a second visit, this means that with CEREC, the procedure is done in a single appointment, start to finish. Not everyone is born with a perfect set of teeth; in A smile that lasts a lifetime, in fact most of us are not. This is an exciting time in dentistry to share opportunities available right now; opportunities to design and create healthy, beautiful smiles that give confidence to the individual that lasts a lifetime. These are some of the reasons what dentistry is all about, for me it’s rewarding to see the “after look†the expression on my patient’s face.
