I am so glad Dr, Schell is working in Arizona. I am alive because he decide to take my case in his hands. You and your team gave me 5 great weeks in the hospital. 10 years after my surgery I am healthy and living normal. Thank you Dr Schell I will never forget what you did.

California, 1983, I had Kaiser for Insurance. Great HMO at the time (I'm not sure how it is these days), where I had the choice of meeting and interviewing as many surgeons as I wanted, until I found the one that I'm comfortable with. I was 25 years old at the time, and I had to have an aortic valve replacement. I asked my wife to come with me, to give me her thoughts and opinion after the meeting.We walk in, I see a sharp looking Doctor in his early-mid 30's. We sat down, with such confidence and authority he went through the entire explanation of all the details of the procedure, the varieties of the valves, the pros and the cons, etc. When we stepped out, my wife asked me "what do you think"? I said. I'm not thinking anything, and if anybody is going to cut me, it will be this guy! I'm not interviewing anybody else, period. She felt the same way.And here I am 26 years later, with the same valve. Bottom line.. if he's still performing, you want HIM to be the one touching… you. he used to be passionate about horses back then, and I have a feeling he still is.About a year or so after the surgery, I saw him on the news, on an AIDS related program at the very early stages of it's discovery, where he was promoting doubling up on the surgical gloves, as they get punctured from time to time.The man is brilliant. I trusted him!
