Because of my SA problem I HAVE to go there, and only there b/c of $$ issues. The first time he seen me it took 4 hrs to complete orientation and finally sit down with him. I am and was serious about quitting my pain medication. I cried, he acted like he cared, gave me a speach about how he will take care of me UNLIKE the ER docs who help me get addicted from bodily injury. Not true!! The first 15 minute sit down time was the LONGEST time he has personally spent with me. In TWO years I have seen him TWICE other than initial visit. He is rude, if you are on the brink one day and have to do a walk in he will not even acknowledge you, until he is ready. Reagen, Chelsea, Stacy, which whom are staff are very kind with great bedside manner. They do this inspite of working for a dubious (profanity here) with a sense of entitlement. He is a drug pusher. I have YET to see one successful SA treatment patient come from there. He starts EVERYONE on the Max dose of 24mg per day to insure he sets… his hooks deep. When I get the will power to stop the program I have a few things I need to "talk to him" about ;) His wife, very caring, and helpful doctor. She sometimes cares too much to the point of helping EVERYONE and riding thin on legality issues it's because she cares about the PERSON! Each is different therefore the structure that she has to abide by legally restrains her from doing her job for the masses. If you are in full blown withdrawals and can't swing the "every other day" appointments at PORT, go. Please bear in mind wht I've said. Don't get bitten by the snake, I've described him as NOT being at all, a good patient relations doctor, he just isn't. Excuse me, but the term (profanity here) is an understatement. He has charged people's Medicare even after they quit, the list goes on. You do NOT want to be a long term patient at this facilty; unless his wife has a spot for you. Good luck, :/
