Dr. Young was born and raised in the low country of South Carolina. He attended the public school system in Hampton, and graduated from the University of South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his D.M.D. degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, and also received a Master of Medical Science (M.M.Sc.) (Anesthesiology) from Emory University. Dr. Young completed his residency in Periodontics at the Medical University of South Carolina, and also received a Masters in Health Science at that time.
Dr. Young is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Southern Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists, as well as many local and state organizations. Dr. Young is a diplomat of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and a fellow of the International College of Dentists.
For over 20 years, Dr. …Young has maintained an international lecture series for periodontists, concentrating on Anesthesiology and Emergency Medicine. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Periodontology at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Young maintains a full-time private practice, limited to periodontology and dental implants, serving the residents of the coastal empire of Georgia, as well as the low country of South Carolina.
