Dr. Wanda Lo, MD

I was running 15 late since my doctor's appointment ran late, and I was coming from Santa Maria (40 mins away). I called the office to inform them that I was running 15 min late but they were at lunch until 130 pm (my appointment time) so I left a message. No one called me back to inform me to cancel, when I arrived (1:47 pm) I was informed by the front desk that they would have to ask Dr Lo for permission. My son was due for a well child check up and was due to receive his first dose of the MMR which I was happy about since the recent measles outbreak in CA. I was informed that Dr Lo said no she would not see my son today. I even asked if we can be added for later on the day or see the PA so he could get his immunizations, and again I was informed no that they were all busy. I've been in that office before and overheard when exceptions were made for other parents who were running late. But I guess SLO only make exception for their "kinds." I even asked to speak to the manager… Kathy, with a blank stare on her face she informed me that I could not be seen today because they were busy. Again I know I don't expect any preferential treatments, but what am I supposed to think when I notice that others are given preferential treatments because they're of a different race. This is my kid's health we're talking about and no one in that office gave a darn!!! This is the first time that I've ever encountered such inferior treatment due to my race (black), and I'm from the south.

Spead talker. Unavailable by phone, no matter how many times a message is left. Does not follow up. Does not communicate with the other parent in a divorce situation. Does not communicate with the other physicians taking care of the patient.Misdiagnosed a head injury!!!!! NOT OK, Not impressed.

Dr. Lo is always interested in her patients and always patient with any situation to help parents and their children understand what is needed for their health and well being. I would like to have a direct email to contact Dr. Lo especially when I am out of own and need to check with her for any reason. In fact, this is the only area where it is hard to get a hold of anyone in the office after hours. I am not too happy that if you require to talk to the doctor you have to pay for it, but overall my experience has been good!

Dr Lo is a total nutcase. She is very unprofessional in manner and communication. More importantly, Dr Lo is also seriously misguided (and insistent) in her diagnoses and treatment recommendations. As if this weren't bad enough, this clinic is overwhelmed with the patient load, office staff is rude, and patients are treated with disrespect.

Dr. Lo is an okay doctor. I hate the staff and triage people... extremely unintelligent people! Always handing out bad advice to new or young parents and then snickering after they leave. Dr. Lo has a terrible memory and always had to be reminded of which child is which and what she has already done to each kid, but she always seems to get the job done.

Dr. Lo is extremely professional and very caring she addresses all aspects of health care. She has always been compassionate and gentle with our daughter. My husband and I absolutely love Dr.Lo and we would recommend her to any new baby and family. The office staff is always friendly and very eager to meet our needs. Overall we would give Dr. Lo a 10 out of 10.

1. Great practice if you want your child to feel like a number instead of a human being. 2. The office staff is rude, inconsiderate, and often makes scheduling mistakes. Then they try to charge you for their appointment scheduling errors. There were only a few competent and caring office staff members. 3. They charge for everything and you can not reach the doctor during off hours unless you want to pay out of pocket (an expense not covered by insurance companies). 4. I told Dr. Lo about the advice given to us for our feverish newborn by the on call telephone nurse...of "Why haven't you given your baby Tylenol? It doesn't matter what dosage you use...just use!" Dr. Lo just shrugged it off and said well it IS the night nurse. I brought in my 3 week old infant with a dangerously high fever and asked if the triage nurse could actually take a minute to check her...the office staff replied "NO we can't do that... come back in 4 hours" even though we lived over an hour away. We were… waiting for a 15 month well baby check-up for over an hour inside a stuffy examining room with 3 young children. After 35 minutes passed my husband stepped into the hall to politely inquire how much longer the wait was going to be. One of the medical assistants glared at him and loudly proclaimed, "I think I'm going to hang a big sign up here in the hall for all of you laymen that says..." We were shocked at such rudeness. She yelled "I'm done with you!" Dr. Lo appeared about 10 mins after the incident preaching that "The patients next door got their twins mixed up and if it were you ...you'd want me to spend just as much time with your child." We weren't complaining about having to wait. We were simply & politely inquiring about how much longer the wait was going to be. We were upset about being treated so rudely by the staff. Dr. Lo would usually come into the appointments talking about something completely unrelated to the health & well being of our child. For example, "Boy... we can not get that drawer open over there...this new computer system is slowing me down...I just had knee surgery...etc." Her bedside manner was cold and she made little effort to connect with her child patients. I had to remind her of my son's heart murmur each newborn appointment to see if it had changed. We wanted to space out the administration of vaccines and that is the only time she took the extra effort to scribble down a plan of action for the vaccine schedule on the examining table paper. Dr. Lo seems like a pleasant person but she exhibited no concern about the way the office is being run and how patients are treated. The only reason we stayed patients for so long was because of the limited doctor choices from our employer's insurance. We never had any serious complications so perhaps that's what Dr. Lo does best. I don't know. Regardless of the profession I believe everybody deserves to be treated with respect and courtesy. Central Cost Pediatric Inc. seems to be concerned with one thing...move as many patients through as you can and rake in the money. Oh and remember, if you change your child's diaper there you must take it with you when you leave...such a caring & child friendly establishment!

Wasn't very caring, and when I dared to question something I said she snapped at me. We immediatly found someone different.
