Warner Heathman, D.D.S.
For more than 30 years, Dr. Warner Heathman has provided superior oral and maxillofacial surgery to the communities of south Houston. As a surgical specialist, he has received more than double the amount of training required of a general dentist.
Dr. Heathman completed his undergraduate studies at Baylor University in Waco and was accepted into the Baylor College of Dentistry as a junior in college, one of only five students accepted that year out of a class of 100 students. After completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, he entered military service at the Womack Army Hospital in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, where he completed an Army Rotating Internship (one of only 66 applicants accepted in the entire U.S. Army).
From 1973-1974, Dr. Heathman was stationed in Camp Page, Korea, serving as the head of the clinic there. In December 1973, he was moved to the 121st Evacuation Hospital in Seoul, Korea, where he served as Acting Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for …the entire U.S. Army in Korea. Dr. Heathman received an Army Commendation Medal for his duty in Korea, performing more than 200 surgeries a month plus surgeries on civilian orphans. Dr. Heathman served as the head of the Dental Auxiliary Team at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, before being honorably discharged at the rank of Captain.
Following military service, Dr. Heathman continued his studies at the University of Alabama in Birmingham Medical Center as a resident in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He distinguished himself during this residency by earning an award as the best clinical instructor at the U.A.B. Dental School.
Since 1978, Dr. Warner Heathman has been in private practice as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and has served on the staff of Columbia Bayshore Hospital in Pasadena, Texas. He is a member of both the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) and the Texas Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (TAOMS).
In addition to his private practice work, Dr. Heathman goes on regular surgical mission trips to Brazil (2008) and Mexico (2009).
