Dr. Warren Lee Buchalter, MD

Dr Buchalter was fantastic right from the start. He surmised that I was anxious, not only about the procedure, but also about the results of the biopsy that would follow. He was reassuring and thorough and he went out of his way to make certain that I was aware of what he was doing and why. Good Dude!

I was supposed to go to Vietnam but had your problems and would have to cancel the trip but he was able to put tubes in my ear quickly so I could go. I find him very personable

Like most of the other reviews here; I had a terrible time seeing Dr. Buchalter. He simply does NOT take the time to properly attend to his patients needs, and symptoms. But don't worry, he'll certainly bill you correctly. I got charged $700 for him to look up my nose with a flashlight for all of 20 seconds to confirm that, yes, I do have polyps. Something I TOLD HIM I had. According to him, this counts as a "nasal endoscopy". Save your time and money. Stay Away.

Dr. Buchalter's confidence seems to be mistaken for arrogance based on the reviews I've read. I've been going to his office in columbia for 2 months, and have been to his surgical center in Odenton and will be going to his other office in Glen Burnie. All the staff are nice and the offices are very clean. I was referred to him by my primary care doctor at John's Hopkins because I had something along the lines of swimmer's ear that became severe. Dr Buchalter's treatment cleared the infection that I had been suffering greatly from for a year in just a week after my first appointment. He also noticed I'd had fluid behind my eardrums and helped me in trying to clear it but it was too stubborn after a month of trying various antibiotics and steroids. I also had a severely deviated septum that I mentioned to him and we both agreed it might be contributing to the chronic ear problems on one of my ears since one ear was worse than the other and had more hearing loss. We scheduled a… surgery for PE Tubes for my ears and a septoplasty and turbinate reduction. I thought the tubes were not that necessary because I thought my hearing loss was permanent. But I went through with the surgeries and I now regret not having them done sooner. I can now hear twice as good which proved the doctor knew what he was talking about. Also I got the septoplasty and I can breathe through my left nostril for the first time in what feels like my entire life. I'd rate the pain of the septoplasty a 4/10. The pain of the PE tubes as a 1/10. I think the effects of the anesthesia and breathing tube were more uncomfortable than the actual surgery. There's no packing, just a splints. There swelling but everything looks great. He even called me later in the night after my surgery to check how I was doing. I'll never doubt his treatment from this point on, seeing Doctor Buchalter has improved my quality of life 300% He is a man of few words but he knows what he is doing, don't mistake his confidence for arrogance!

I feel he does not have patience to listen to what I am saying and least bothered about explaning the treatment

Surgery went very smoothly and the results were very effective. Preliminary work and follow-up were also excellent.

Dr. Buchalter was condescending and not really willing to listen to his patient. I just felt terribly uncomfortable with the way he talked to me...as if I couldn't know anything about my own illness. I finally realized how much he wasn't listening when he prescribed to me a drug that I was allergic to. I paid for the prescription and got it home and used it once and then realized he had given me a drug that I was allergic to. Fortunately I didn't have more than a mild reaction, but this could be a fatal mistake for some people.

I found Dr. Buchalter to be condescending rather than informative.

Dr. Buchalter is a great ENT and provides a thorough diagnosis to his patients. He explains how he can work on your problem and answers all of your questions. The best thing he probably did was after my surgery, give me a call to check up on me. This is a great doctor and I recommend him fully!
