As a sports doctor he is completely unfit to do his job. Not only is he not knowledgable, and very far out of date, as well as apathetic, he is highly inappropriate. Making athletes do the Childress test(duck walk), which is a test for meniscal lesions and patellofemoral problems, as the primary mode of examination before participation in sport is ridiculous. The fact that he makes athlets do it in the underwear is asinine. When examining athletes a doctor should be able to palpate just about any superficial structure in the body through athletic clothing (therapists do it regularly), yet he requests that athletes get naked and lie on their backs on the examination table for a basic hip flexor examination. From my personal experience he does not care about the athletes he treats, at least not enough to stay close to current on basic diagnostic and rehabilitation methods. He has misdiagnosed athletes with bone avulsions and stress fractures leading to either exorbitant amounts of… time immobilized and non-weight bearing or the reverse, recommending that athletes continue competition because he was unable to correctly diagnose an avulsion off an ankle x-ray.For acute injuries I highly recommend going elsewhere, although I cannot speak to his expertise as a family doctor or general practitioner.

I saw him for a separated shoulder that never healed properly. Nothing showed up on my x-rays or MRI-Arthrogram, but he stuck with me for a year trying to figure out what was going on. He finally referred me for surgery and we got it repaired. The best doctor I have ever had and one of the nicest people I've ever met. I still email him when I have sports medicine related questions.
