Summary
Achieving excellence from the start as the Valedictorian of his high school class in Madison, Wisconsin, he was awarded a full academic scholarship to the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He was then immediately accepted into the University of Wisconsin Medical Scholars Program, earning his Doctorate of Medicine in the year 2000.
After relocating to Chicago, he completed his general surgery residency at the University of Illinois, Metropolitan Group Hospitals. It was when he scrubbed in to a 6-hour long TRAM (transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous) flap breast reconstructive procedure that he truly discovered his passion to work in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
In 2005 Dr. Lee began the 3-year Plastic and Reconstructive fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Today, Dr. Lee is Double Board-Certified plastic surgeon. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
