Dr. Luchetti’s bedside manner left a lot to be desired. He rushed through the appointment and acted as though I was wasting his time because I had a normal x-ray and didn’t have a surgical issue. He wasn’t interested in what I had to say and rushed to judgment about what the issue is. He made a lot of inaccurate assumptions as well. All he needed to do was listen. If I had gotten to talk in detail about relevant information, he’d know the following, very relevant things: 1. My trainers at the gym all have undergraduate degrees in exercise science. They all have experience in a variety of settings including rehabs, athletic coaching, etc. They also work with members of all ages with a variety of health issues, injury histories, etc. No one assumes all bodies are the same. The precise reason I chose that gym. 2. My workouts are mostly functional strength and metabolic style workouts. I also do yoga and stretch for half an hour daily. I am quite flexible and my muscles should not be so… tight that it’s causing pain. Not discomfort. Pain. 3. I have a high pain threshold - a high enough pain threshold to walk around on a broken foot for a week before seeing a doctor. A high enough pain threshold to walk around on a navicular bone tumor for over a year until I could no longer actually walk - which is when I finally sought out a doctor. 4. The last time I ignored something that registered as pain vs. discomfort and assumed it was just arthritis or spending too much time on my feet, I lost my ability to walk. Turned out I had a benign bone tumor and needed surgery. The first doctor I sought out for this was also LVPG orthopedics and blew me off. Second opinion doctor in another health network took me seriously and quite literally saved my life by fixing the issue and encouraging me to get back into fitness. 5. The issue that brought me into the office has gotten increasingly worse despite taking a step back at the gym and lightening up my training on the affected area. I also had a nerve injury in the affected area 11 years ago - the result of an assault. A normal x-ray doesn’t mean there isn’t a problem. Dr. Luchetti’s assumptions and attitude during my visit was not only harmful in regards to the issue I came in for not being addressed with any sort of care or consideration, but also in the emotional ramifications of not being heard or taken seriously by a doctor in regards to my health. It triggered extreme anxiety and less than healthy methods of coping that had been under control for an extended period of time. I am a survivor of multiple instances of medical malpractice. I am extremely choosy about the doctors I see. I expected so much better from a doctor with such high ratings and positive reviews. I have an idea of why there is such a discrepancy in what I’ve heard and read about Dr. Luchetti and how I was treated, but I have no proof and I am above making assumptions. Especially in important matters such as healthcare and why a physician would ignore his oath to do no harm to provide subpar care to one patient and seemingly phenomenal care to others.

If you want to be heard and if you want to be seen, as a person. This is not the man. If you want to feel no connection to a physician, if you want to be demeaned. He’s definitely your guy. He can do surgery. But he cannot communicate nor identify with you

I could not be happier with the total hip replacement procedure from the preppier through the post op. Dr. Luchetti was very thorough throughout my case and a year after the surgery I remain very happy

After many years of being bone on bone my right knee was due for a TKR

Dr Wayne Luchetti repaired a tear in my left rotator cuff in Nov 2107. It was torn due to many years of heavy weight training and got worse over time. The surgery went great and Dr Luchetti explained to me the importance of rehab for the proper range of motion to come back quickly. He even referred me to a great physical therapist. Since a repair like mine heals about 15% every month, it took a good 7-8 months and the shoulder is virtuallly perfect. I was moving it freely in about 4-6 weeks. I’m 51 and my shoulder feels like it did when I was 20. I couldn’t be happier with the results. I’m even back to weight training but making sure of a 15-20 minute warm up before lifting the heavier weights. Thanks Dr Luchetti for your professionalism and overall great service and care...

My experience with Dr. Luchetti was 2nd to none. His knowledge and expertise made the post operation recovery smooth and manageable. Dr Luchetti is a Perfectionist. I've had knee replacements and other treatments from him and my results have been fantastic. He is extremely thorough and his follow up very satisfying. He is second to none and I would have no one else as my surgeon !

MD Luchetti has performed total shoulder replacement on both of my arms. He is compassionate and one of the best surgeons I’ve ever known. Both replacement has given me back total shoulder movement and use with no pain and no real visible scaring. I would and do recommend him to all. I live in upstate NY, but would travel across the country for his expertise and his total caring for his patients. I absolutely can’t say enough about him as a person and surgeon.
