Dr Olan addressed my complex situation with empathy and offered treatment options that were concise and easy to understand. He was very confident and caring which I found reassuring.

I have never posted a review of a physician until today. Felt compelled to do so based on my experiences since 2015. I was referred to Dr. Olan for injections to address back pain. The injections often would result in some relief and his demeanor at the time of the appointment was certainly courteous. However, in those 2 or 3 occurrences where I experienced no improvement or when the injection had caused excessive pain lasting longer than he had told me to expect, my telephone calls and emails through the GW system were never responded to. In one situation, I called and spoke to his assistant at GW almost every day for approximately 2 weeks and still never received a response call. I gave the benefit of the doubt until I recently called the surgery center where he performs injections. I had thought that the lack of medical professional could have been his assistant's failure to pass along my message. But the person at the surgery center passed along my message when I called to… obtain my records saying that she thought that my experience must be unusual. 2 days later still no calls even though she advised me that she did convey my message and was surprised that he had not called me back. Was very surprised to see some of these very positive reviews. My experience certainly has not been a positive one and would not recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Olan his self is a great doctor. Very down to earth great bed side matter and very educated and cares about his patients. His staff on the other hand is very rude uneducated and makes you feel as if your health doesn't matter. Also this is what caused my surgery to be cancelled due to lack of education and correct documetation to provide to insurance companies. Anyone knows a back ache will not cover a compression fracture in the tspine therefore my surgery was cancelled and when I called to speak with his assistant she flat out told me I'm not his only patient and didn't want to correct the documentation she supplied the insurance company with and hung the phone up on me. I work in the medical field and this behavior would never be accepted by any of our staff member. I'd suggest Dr. Olan consider re staffing his office.

The Dr and his staff were very pleasant, efficient and helpful.

Excellent Neurosurgeon. Straight-forward in communicating. Dr. Olan is kind and compassionate. He handles a situation with care, patience and grace. Even if he had none of these qualities, I would still trust him with my life.

Very professional, knowledgable, great bedside manner.
