For several years I experienced unpleasant “waves” with zinging noises in my head. I went from doctor to doctor but none of them diagnosed my problem correctly, until by chance I met cardiologist Dr Wayne Whitwam at Scripps in La Jolla. He diagnosed my symptoms as coming from my atrial fibrillation, a major electrical disorder of my heart. After four-hours of surgical ablation of both atria in April 2023, all negative symptoms are gone including the atrial fibrillation. I couldn’t be happier. Not only is cardiologist Dr. Whitwam a top-notch doctor, he is also very caring, taking the time to listen and answer every question. He is just amazing, and I consider myself blessed that I found him.

Dr. Whitwam is an excellent doctor, courteous, charming and has a good sense of humour, what more could one want.I truly glad that I was fortunate enough to be treated by him in Fallbrook beforehe transferred me to Scripps in La Jolla.

Dr Whitwam is a very approachable, collaborative physician who engages well and take time answering questions. He was decisive when I needed a pacer in an emergency situation which saved my life.

I've never had a doctor treat me with such respect - not talking down to me when explaining my condition. He followed up with me personally by phone as well. My medical condition has greatly improved under his care.
