Dr. Chen is the best plastic surgeon around! Not only can he repair complex problems he also takes all the time you need for each and every visit. Who ever wrote the negative comments obviously must be living with their own issues of unhappiness. He is the absolutely the best plastic surgeon with only the patients best interest in mind!

Dr. Chen is a one of a kind surgeon. He only wants what is best for the patient, not driven by money or time. He listens and provides you with what you want. I don’t know why someone would write a negative comment about one of the best surgeon out there today! Strongly recommend him!

Dr. Wei Chen has changed my life for the better. He is an amazing surgeon that genuinely cares about his patients. In today's world, it seems the medical professionals care only about $$$. Dr. Chen is not like that, as he truly wants to help those suffering from this painful/chronic condition. He performed two LVA surgeries to help my Secondary Lymphedema (post cancer). He has excellent bedside manners and he always takes the time to explain things to us in a way that puts our minds at ease. His staff is very kind, knowledgeable, and I am so grateful for their clinic. We love his nurse, Mindy. His research is changing the way Lymphedema is treated worldwide and he is providing "Hope" for those suffering. This is all so exciting! When I came to him a year ago, I was living a subpar quality of life with daily pain. Not today! Now I am a new person. Anyone who leaves negative comments about Dr. Chen, could not be speaking of this man that I proudly call my surgeon--my "Lymphedema Hero".

After reading all of the reviews it is very obvious that the same person wrote negative comments month after month. It's unfortunate that this site doesn't remove obviously bogus comments. All sites seem to have them and sometimes they actually come from staff at other physicians' offices! I was treated by Dr. Chen for secondary lymphedema (LE). I started considering a surgical option for my LE back in 2012 and consulted with several of the top-rated surgeons in the country and also with the French surgeon who first introduced nodal transplant. It wasn't until I contacted Dr. Chen that I felt comfortable with going ahead with sugery. Dr. Chen, who is extremely articulate, compassionate, and attentive, spent inordinate time responding to my emails and then equal time conversing with me over the phone. He explained everything thoroughly and responded to all my questions, including providing me with the names of other highly-rated surgeons who were closer to me geographically. … When I decided that I wanted him to perform my surgery, he and his staff made every accommodation so that I could spend the least amount of time away from home. He checked up on me constantly to make sure I was okay. Despite my having had LE for at least 13 prior years, the surgery was a resounding success. I live far enough away from Iowa that it would have been very easy for me to decide not to return to Iowa once the surgery was over but I have returned for every scheduled follow-up visit, and that is purely a function of the respect, admiration, and appreciation I have Dr. Chen and what he has done for me both physically and emotionally. Dr. Chen treats each patient like he or she is the ONLY patient. He is cutting edge to a fault and in my opionion is the number one option any LE patient should consider. To quote my late father, when you want the best, you go to the best. And that is exactly what I did. Thank you Dr. Chen.

Dr Chen is the most compassionate, patient and talented surgeon. He has much time explaining my condition, surgical options and pro and cons. Even before I became his patient he took the time to answer questions I had (sent by email) Directly by calling me! Post surgery, he visited personally daily, Sometimes twice, once again taking time to answer questions, never giving the impression to be in a hurry (even on the weekend)... He is truly passionate by what he does and I consider myself very lucky to have found him!

Dr Chen and his team are wonderful! I'm so grateful for having the chance to get my lymphedema under control. My hand and wrist became skinner right away and I can now feel my forearm bone without pitting. Dr Chen is truly one of the kind! He always takes all the time needed to explain and answer questions. When I think of Dr. Chen, the first word that comes to my mind is "gratitude". I will never be able to thank Dr. Chen for what he have done for me. He genuinely cares about his patients and full of energy and passionate about helping lymphedema patients. I had a wonderful experience and surgery outcomes with Dr. Chen!
