Dr. Wendy Marie Rivers, MD

On 12/2/2025, Dr Rivers met my child -toddler- for a cough that my son had for a couple of days and I ( parent) wanted a flu shot for my kid, I was told by the nurse that I will need a doctor to write a prescription. Dr Rivers was assigned to my child ,she spent 3-4 mins with my child to check out his lungs and neck. She - Dr Rivers- wrote the prescription for the flu shot vaccine for my child. 24 hours later, I found out that she diagnosed my child WITHOUT communicating/aligning/ consulting with me ( parent) with " behavioural and emotional disorder with onset in childhood ". Since I was in shock , as this is her FIRST time meeting my child. I asked her for any supporting documentations and prior visits that allowed for such a diagnosis, she admitted that she had NONE. I requested for that diagnosis to be removed since she admitted not having any supporting documentation or prior knowledge/ visit with my child and she still has not done so. This is UNACCEPTABLE and beneath the… experience expected from a professional individual and should NOT meet the standard of an organization as Princeton Naussau Pediatrics or any healthcare provider. The fact that a doctor diagnosed a child WITHOUT aligning and consulting the parent or the caregiver is against the NJ law and federal law especially as a toddler. This is a very stressful situation trying to get this doctor to correct the harm and emotional distress she is causing to me .Parents, I will give Dr Rivers less than 1star if it is possible. I urge you NOT to go to her to avoid this experience. Princeton Naussau Pediatrics, please note this is unethical and unlawful behavior by Dr Rivers.

Dr. Rivers was more interested in running out the door than taking time to listen to us as worried parents about our child. Additionally her diagnosis was wrong and had to go to another pediatrician for second opinion. Would never recommend her to anyone.

This doctor refused to acknowledge my child had a bacterial infection in his throat simply because he tested negative for strep. Despite repeat phone calls to this doctor informing her of my son's continued intractable throat pain and fever, she refused to provide prompt treatment, which ultimately led to a trip to the ER for proper treatment of his pain and infection, which spread to both his ears within 24 hrs. Thankfully we rejected her theory it was a virus and he didn't rupture his ear drums. While this MD may seem impressive on her resume, she leaves a lot to be desired as an effective healthcare provider. I DO NOT recommend this doctor.
