Dr. Wendy Lynn Weinstein, MD

Hello. It is really nerve wracking to leave this review because of how disgusting this doctor treated me. I had met her outside of her practice and knew who she was. She even hugged me when I walked in. She had students observing her. She said, yes great I can be your doctor, I'll prescribe your meds. Then a couple days later I get a letter in the MAIL "terminating" me from her "practice." It just said to contact my previous doctor and not to contact her. It was the absolute opposite of what she said in our appt and she is a liar. It was just weird and bizarre. I ignored all of these reviews about her and I regretted it. I have an anxiety disorder and this really cranked it up. I didn't do anything wrong. It was just SO WEIRD!!! *do not* go to see this woman. ALSO, the weirdest biggest red flag before I even walked into her office was that they had 2 doors locked and used walkie talkies to open them and usher us in!!! She should not be practicing, ESPECIALLY as a psychiatrist. This… lady is not right and will make your situation worse. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Was very nice the first visit, from then on was continuously disrespectful in so many ways before abruptly kicking me out of her clinic, all the negative reviews are 100% accurate. She should not be practicing.

I saw this doctor for many years and she had me on, what my other doctors told me was the biggest amount of psych meds they've ever seen a patient on (for about 10 years). She terminated me over a same day cancellation with no warning and I was beyond devastated but it was the biggest blessing in disguise. A year later I had very gradually become sicker than you could imagine and was sure my heart was failing. I was in the ER all the time and finally my PCP just said that they think that I had acute serotonin syndrome and had signs of it for many years. Long story short, I have dumped all but one of the meds and have a new lease on life. Physically I have come such a long way, have gotten rid of so many horrible symptoms, and mentally I am better than I have been in years. I can actually comprehend what I read again and FEEL things again. I have a much lower stress lifestyle and didn't need any of that junk she had me on that was basically making me physically and mentally ill.

If I followed her plan which I told her straight up in the first appointment- no- and discontinued treatment- I’d be dead because her diagnosis was that off. She then followed up by sending a dismissal letter after I fired her and was so alarmed by her that I recorded our appointment because I couldn’t believe this woman. Then, icing on top - she sent me a bill for a missed appointment with late fees! Haha. She tried to go to collections. Her staff is so rude and short sighted they just do nothing. I explained I wasn’t a patient and they got angry lol. GO TO NYC. BUFFALO DOESNT HAVE A DECENT PSYCHIATRIST AVAILABLE. NOT ONE. TRUST ME!!

Recommended to me by OB/GYN during pregnancy of 3rd child, had excellent treatment for hormone related depression.

Is exactly her attitude & personality. Her appointments don't last longer than 10 minutes and she has no source of empathy or sympathy for others. Just cold, dismissive & condescending

I have been a patient of Dr. Weinstein for many years (15+) and have never had a complaint. I even recommended her to my mother, who has also been a patient for several years. During the COVID 19 quarantine (when everyone was under stress), my mother had a problem with a telephone appointment and the doctor's office was very rude to her. I will not go into details but she is 82 years old and was very anxious during this difficult time. She called me, crying, about what had happened. I immediately called Dr. Weinstein's office, upset myself, to talk to them about what had happened. They were not rude but very dismissive of the complaint, telling me that the doctor would be notified about what happened. Within about a week, with no further telephone contact from the office, my mother and I both received the exact same letter from the doctor's office, stating that since we were unhappy with the way she ran her office, we were being dismissed as patients. I had an upcoming… appointment on May 4, which they advised me was cancelled. Now, both my mom and I get anxiety/depression medication from Dr. Weinstein but we were not allowed to talk to her any further. We were advised to find another doctor. Luckily, we both have enough medication to get us through the next couple of weeks and (hopefully) until we are able see another doctor. But what kind of PSYCHIATRIST dumps patients during what is probably one of the most stressful times in recent history? Especially an 82 year old woman in poor health? I feel it is inexcusable and that Dr. Weinstein should in some way have to answer for this behavior, which I would consider malpractice. I have read many many reviews of her on this site and others, of individuals that she has also dumped because of a disagreement or incident that would have easily been prevented or fixed with just one simple phone call. Or at least a little empathy on the part of the doctor and her office. If you are looking for a psychiatrist, I would recommend NOT calling Dr. Weinstein.

I get to my appointment finally and am ready to meet this lady I heard was amazing today! Before I get there a nurse comes out and I’m like hi Wendy it’s nice to meet you, she’s like IM NOT WENDY AND HER NAME ISNT WENDY ITS DR W, she had a PHD in this and that blah blah blah. She told me to go f myself much and I said excuse me, I just got her and you’re attacking me. She said. I am not , I came down here to let you know Wendy will not perceive you any benzos and if your here for that we can’t see you. I said excuse me again??? I need to see the dr at this point ; I said no problem lady, dr Wendy comes down I’m all excited now she walks in and says she will not treat me bc I was on medication she will not treat me for currently , a medication for my rare tumor and PTSD , life threatening, she said you have to be off it for at least 6 months before I can evaluate you properly ! I drive 3 hours to see her ! Because there is a lack of drs around us right now, I was told to leave and I… left crying my head off , I am struggling from terrible life experiences right now and I just wanted a dr to talk to and get me on medication to help me get me out of bed in the morning . Terrible Terrible woman this lady is she is a scam! And I should of listened to my gut and her ratings. I am disgusted at how I was treated, I also will be firbding a caring dr to help me in Rochester . Dr Wendy you are a joke and no one should go to you! You will be getting the better business bureau called on you and my attorney will be there this week , you won’t be getting away with it anymore after you messed with the wrong women . #1: The picture of the blonde woman with bangs - IS NOT WENDY WEINSTEIN. It's a fake picture so she doesn't get attacked in public because she ruins peoples lives everyday. She was supposed to be my "wonderful" new provider - she told me in my 30 min appt (which she kept to exactly 30 mins) that she would continue to write my long term medication scripts if I also added a new drug that she suggested. I asked if I could do my due diligence about the drug as I'd never heard of it before and get back to her. She said she would if I signed on as a patient. So yesterday morning I did just that. It had been exactly a week. I got a call back that the doctor will NOT fill my long term medications because I took too long to decide...she would ONLY fill the new medication. Then, they called back to say something about a problem and I asked, "what exactly is the problem? I'm just trying to become a new patient and I seem to be getting a lot of resistance" to which she said cut me off and said… "ahhhhh stop ill transfer you" - umm who are you transferring me to? there's only 2 people in the incredibly tiny office...I'm still not understanding the problem. UMMM....EXCUSE ME?>!? Mental health professionals- would you ever cold turkey someone who's 33 years old and been on 3 medication long term since age 8, 15 and 20? NO NO NO NO RUN!!!! DO NOT GO SEE THIS WOMAN SHE IS A SCAMMMMMMMMMM

I saw Dr. Weinstein for nearly 15 years and thought she was the best psychiatrist. Due to other health issues my attendance over those years has been spotty at times. I missed one appointment of several this year and I'm terminated with no warning or notice. She has me on many meds I've become very dependent on. I am not doing very well and she knows I need a psychiatrist more than ever. She will not continue my meds until I can get in with someone new. She is a very, very good actress and it's become clear that she has never really cared one bit about me.
