Dr. Wenjie Sun, MD

Dr. Sun is so kind and knowledgeable. I have been coming to her now for the last 5 years since my last pregnancy. She is so patient and never seems to be in a rush to get to the next patient. I really like that about her.

She performed my D&C and I felt like I was in great hands.

Horrible doctor.

I was excited to see her because I read she was educated well and had won awards. I must say I was very disappointed. She came off very smart but very condescending as well. Her bedside manner was off putting and it was hard to get a word in edgewise. I never scheduled with her again and wouldn't recommend it.

I can't give Dr. Sun enough stars. She is a caring, patient and kind doctor. I had a very difficult pregnancy that required bedrest, Dr. Sun always made sure that my husband and I were aware of what to look forward to and reassured me often that things would be ok. As it turned out, they were. I delivered a healthy term baby, thanks to Dr. Sun.

Not only was I improperly informed of irregular test results, but after a procedure that should have COMPLETELY resolved the problem that was being addressed, I was subjected to unnecessary tests, biopsies, visits, and it was suggested that the SAME procedure be repeated. Thousands of dollars (I was even billed an additional $30 at the time of my well-woman visit for what was called a "consultation"... I asked her to refill my prescription!), emotional, physical, mental stress and anxiety later, I have switched doctors and everything has been properly addressed and fully taken care of. Seeing this doctor and not getting a second opinion sooner was a mistake I'll regret for the rest of my life. I can only hope that someone will read this and consider other physicians prior to becoming (or remaining) a patient of Dr. Sun's.

Bedside manner was terrible - didn't want to spend much time discussing problem - very matter-of-fact. No eye-to-eye contact - would not go back to see her ever again.

Dr. Sun is excellent. I had been having a problem with abnormal bleeding, and doctor after doctor, was never given an accurate diagnosis until I saw Dr. Sun. I was told before seeing her that I had everything from irritation from tampon use to an atrophic endometrium. I finally saw Dr. Sun on the recommendation of a friend, and first visit, she was pretty sure of what I had just by taking a quick peek at my cervix - HPV - something that my other docs should have looked into from the start considering how common it is (I even saw another MD in the practice first because I could get in sooner with her, and she didn't pick up on it), especially because cervical cancer runs in my family. When the first PAP came up clean (they always had, which is why the other MD's said I didn't have HPV), she had me come back in to do what is called a "rigorous PAP"...basically a super PAP with a lot more swabbing than a normal one. Low and behold, the results came back and I had atypical cells… consistent with HPV. She did all the appropriate sunsequent testing I needed immediately (and even though I had to wait to see her initially, she made sure I got my tests immediately and any follow-ups I needed after were never a problem to schedule), including a high-risk HPV test, colposcopy, and endometrial biopsy (the endometrial biopsy was because of my previous diagnosis of atrophic endometrium to make sure everything was ok with it, for everyone saavy out there that knows that's not part of a normal HPV workup, wanted to let you know she didn't order any extraneous tests, and DID order all the appropriate ones), and even though I was anxious to do something to stop my frustrating ongoing bleeding problem(HPV usually clears up in about 6 months and most people don't even get symptomatic, my issue had been going on for 2 years), Dr. Sun discussed my options at length with me (and always returned my calls in a timely fashion as well) and explained that watching and waiting would be the best option since I was young and had a low risk strain to reduce my risk of scarring and pregnancy complications later because cancer wasn't likely to occur, and if it did, it would take longer than the high risk strains so we could catch it before it got to that point as long as I followed up like I should. While I was frustrated at first with her not immediately offering surgery, I am thankful now that she wasn't as hasty as I was and encouraged me not to get the surgery prematurely. She patiently discussed everything with me even though I wasn't the happiest patient at first. Using professional judgement and not giving in to the patient's every whim is a mark of a good doctor (and I didn't make it easy for her, I'm a medical professional and I put up a good fight!). I have moved out of state since my last appt and wish I could have brought her with me!
