Dr. Wesley Elon Fleming, MD

It's ironic how one person's experience can be 180 degrees opposite from another's. I found dr. Fleming to be knowledgeable, caring and concerned. His staff has always been excellent although I haven't had occasion to try and call outside of my appointment times.

Dr Fleming and staff are excedenly proffesional. From the minute i steped into the office to the minute I departed. The staff is knowlegable, approachable, curteous,and friendy. Dr fleming answered all my quesitons and doubts as well. There is an air of calmess about him that radiates and as a result made me feel that there was hope. After my very first episode back in 2013 I was sent to E. R, from work. There, I had a complete work up, everything was WDL..... eventhough the neurologigal assessment did not correlate as I could not move, sustain my head, raise my hands, and even less stand up... the E.R. Dr said he did not know what was wrong with me. I went home 7 hours after I was loaded with fluids and my strength was milldy restored. Upon discharge, I was refered to a neulorogyst in my area and after another CT scan, MRI and an EGG everything was within normal limts, she sent me home to rest for a week then return to regular duties as work and if the episode happened… again , I was to see her again. Nothing happened for a year and a half and then a whole array of episodes one after another began to happen with not specific trigger. On a second admission to onother hospital in the area I was fortunate to have as a neurolsgyst a former student of Dr fleming and He was the one who refered me to dr Felming. On my first visit, I had mixed feelings, nerveousness and exitement at the thought that I would be able to get treated or find a way to get better. This disorder was taking over my life, and I was not about to let it dominate me. I had such mixed and hiped emotions that as soon as the good Doctor walked in the room, I collapsed with a cataplectic episode. He showed me how to deal with it and I was albe come out of it with in minutes, where as normally these episodes debiltitated me for hours. He was able to witness the episode and after a few tests by Dr Flemming It was comfirmed that I had Narcolepsy/Cataplexy. I Thank heavens for Dr's like Dr Fleming and pray that Dr fleming is able to teach and educate the medical community as I found that many had no idea of what was going on with me. There needs to be more awareness, and teaching on recognition of the disorder. I was out there in the freeways and streets driving after I was seen by the firtst neurologyst, I did not realize the danger I was putting people in everytime I drove. Fortunaltelly and by God's grace no incidents happened.

Dr. Fleming is upbeat, knowledgeable and courteous, with an office full of friendly, helpful staff. The negative comments are ridiculous - criticizing a doctor who practices in Irvine for dressing sharp?

after a negative experience at another sleep lab I was sent to this one for my mslt to rule out narcolepsy...THE STAFF WAS AMAZING!!! super professional, explained everything to me, and made me feel at ease immediately...

Dr. Fleming is a phenomenal physician who is an expert in sleep medicine. I'm not sure why someone would rate based on the clothing he wears and accuse him of busting their colon. He has an awesome bedside manner and explains everything in basic terms. He discusses your treatment plan and answers any questions you have. His office staff is friendly and professional with a quiet and zen like environment. I've already referred a family member and friend to him. Excellent doctor!!!

If there is one person in the world that makes doctor visits fun and exciting; that would be Dr. Fleming. The office is quite serene like a zen garden and makes you feel balanced. The staff is friendly and upbeat. I hadn't been to a sleep doctor before so I was extremely nervous and thought the doctor would think I was crazy with what I came for. My guard was up on the first visit because I had no idea what do expect. When Dr. Fleming introduced himself he had such a friendly, caring bedside manner, I relaxed and knew it was smooth sailing from there on out. I feel the most valuable part of the visit was he took the time to thoroughly read my patient packet and addressed any other questions, concerns I had. In the process of explaining any tests or procedures they needed to do, Dr. Fleming had a great sense of humor. This was much needed to lighten up the information what was given. I feel Dr. Fleming has a wealth of knowledge that sets him apart from other doctors. I have to say… I learned the most fascinating information and had one of the best experiences at Dr. Fleming's office. So if you need a sleep doctor - Dr. Fleming and his crew I know can help you.

Great experience, staff and doctor caring and highly knowledgeable very friendly professional and relaxed. Sleep center is first class all bedrooms have en suite bathrooms

He set my CPap machine too high and I believe caused the perforation of my colon and the hospital stay. A law suit is coming. My present doctor set the machine 7 points lower.

I have no issues with this doc. He is fine. I just dislike that they only accept PPO insurance and the obvious reason is their location and their overpriced office building. The Doc also has super expensive clothes. I want a Doc who is more middle class. Not one who lords their wealth over you and makes you feel like your money is not important. The nurse is all I really needed. He did all the real work. If only a nurse could do half of what we need doctors to do, health care would be cheaper. Seriously the doctor is no longer important, all we need is a nurse with a prescription pad. Even in the case of sleep disorders, a lab tech with a CPAP machine is all we need. 15 years of med school, what a waste... This is why health care costs so much.

Dr. Fleming and his staff are knowledgable, courtious, and eager to help you feel better. I had to keep pestering my medical group to approve him to treat me. Other Nuerologists (and their office staff) just didn't compare. Truth is, I'd pay out of pocket if I had to...that's how good he is.
