Dr. Wesley John Kai, MD

I don't wish to bash this doctor as he did pass the medical bar and did become a doctor. However, this doctor did not pass social skills training or he has lost his ways to perform his duties. That being said, my father's appointment with him felt like a bother to Dr. Kai. The doctor didn't even look at my father's other ailments that he was having due to his heart issues. For the people that say he is an excellent doctor, I believe you; however, if you're in great shape then it would great experience. If you have underlying issues, he will not give you the time of day or look at you when talking to you. If you were transferred to him, I hope he gives you a thorough check over before giving you a diagnosis. Not going into too much detail, but my father's appointment felt rushed, no eye contact, not even looking at other issues, and Dr. Kai seemed very arrogant in his ways. His staff is just the same, so if you're a kapuna looking for a new cardiologist or are still seeing him… and don’t care for him, I'd say look elsewhere for another doctor. If Dr. Kai's peers or other officials do read this, something should be done to correct him. I’m sure he is a good doctor. As for the other positive Pacific Health reviews, they do seem strange that he gets a lot of positive reviews almost every day, seems kind of strange like someone is posting fake positive posts for him. I do believe the negative posts that I have read about him. A concerned caregiver for my ailing father.

He is the most RUDE, and uncaring physician my family has ever met. Why become a doctor if your personality to your patient is so MEAN! You expect him to tell you how to better improve your health, give advice, and recommendations on how to get stronger, but NOTHING. You leave his office feeling like there’s no HOPE!!!His treatment to his patient is like he does not care about helping you. Not only is his treatment to his patent is bad, but his face is not friendly. Do not waste your time booking with him. He should be fired for how bad he treats his patients. Horrible service. I wish I can give him a ZERO

Speaks down to his patients and very rude. Does not listen to patients and doesn’t like to answer questions. Never ordered prescriptions and I had to call to correct them. Total disappointment. Came into my appointment accusing me of complaining of my pain too much. Wake up! I will be filing a complaint.

Rolls his eyes, can’t explain without showing his irritation. Please retire!

Patient for approximately 25 years. Dr. Kai is as good as it gets in Hawaii. No complaints. Highly recommend.

Dr. Kai does not have the best bedside manner, for him it is all business. I have been with him since 2007 and he has done so well in diagnosing my symptoms and keeping me in my best health. Hard to get an appointment sometimes because the front desk is constantly busy, but Dr. Kai's assistants cannot be beat.

This guy is a joke. It was like he was off in another world. I will never make another appointment with this man. I hope his competence is not a reflection of Straub.

Dr. Wesley Kai of Straub Hospital should not be practicing medicine. He is extremely negligent in diagnosing a medical problem. It's as if he is merely going through the motions. He is a hazard to the patient. I used to have such great respect for Straub Hospital, but after being treated by Dr. Kai, I no longer trust Straub to treat me or my family.

Very poor attention to details. I have corrected him on a number of occasions. He never remembers me or the details of my file. Simply does not do his homework before seeing a patient and always seems rushed.
