Dr. Whitney G Bludworth, MD

My trip to the Heart Hospital was very disappointing. In my opinion, Dr Bludworth did not take my heart situation seriously. He was condescending and dismissive. No explainations for the tests that were done, and played down my issues. He prescribed medicine that raised my blood pressure to unsafe levels, and never warned me to be aware that this might happen. He seemed disinterested.

Took my wife in to ER with abdominal pain. D. Bludworth and staff did a wonderful job examining and diagnosing her issue. Examination and imaging were accomplished quickly and expertly. We left with a treatment plan and felt very confident in the quality of care received. Thank you to the Austin Heart Hospital staff and especially Dr. Bludworth!

Went in twice to emergency with heart did not treat me, said to go home and see my doctor. Makes you feel like you are waisting his time, condescending . Will seek help at another hospital if it comes up.

"Went to ER for a laceration on my brow bone. Dr. Bludworth insisted on closing the cut with glue. When he was done, I felt searing pain as he pulled his stuck fingers away from my gluey skin and eyebrow. There are medical supplies to prevent exactly what occurred. He did not use them. When I looked at the finished product there was a 2-3mm space between the edges. I requested that he remove the glue and sew it up. He refused. Eight days later the glue fell off and I was back in the same ER. A different doc stitched up the gash. Dr. Bludworth was head of the ER at the Heart Hospital in Austin. Why?

I went in for treatment of what seems to be a serious issue with an iud that was causing me enough pain to even go to the hospital in the first place. As soon as Dr. Bludworth came in he immediately asked why I had not gone to see an obgyn and then told me that my reason for being there had no urgency. I explained to him I had recurring infections due to this iud and have been told I could develop pelvic inflammatory disease if I did not get them treated immediately. However, after explaining my reason for the urgency he still denied to give me treatment. Once I started crying out of pure desperation and shock he said he would do an exam but it wouldn’t matter cus it would take several days to get the results. Does he even know how long it will take to get an appointment to an obgyn? I work and it’s not easy to find those appointments for at least a week in advance, which is much longer than having to wait a few days for results. I felt violated and like I was a burden on him. What a… horrible excuse for a doctor. His license should be removed. Do not trust your life or your loved ones lives in his care. He is a danger to society. I will be pressing charges.

Dr. Bludworth handled a dislocated joint with ease and ability. He explained everything and we didn't have to wait for treatment. At the end of the visit, he made a referral to a specialist for follow up. We had confidence in the way he handled the case. The staff at the Heart Hospital of Austin ER was very efficient, capable, and friendly.
