Dr. Will Vahid Jeffers, DO

My wife was seen due to severe pain in her breast while she was nursing. Dr. Jeffers 1) misdiagnosed this as mastitis, 2) provided a prescription for unnecessary antibiotics, and 3) incorrectly advised that she should not feed from that breast as it could potentially make the baby sick. The following day when my wife was able to visit the lactation consultant at her primary OB/GYN they advised that the issue was simply a clogged milk duct; lack of any fever should have been the key clue that it was not mastitis. The extremely powerful antibiotic was therefore unnecessary. As for #3, the worst possible thing she could do with a clogged duct is to not feed on it. This caused immensely more pain and made the situation far worse. Lastly, even if it was mastitis, the suggestion that the baby could get sick from it is ridiculously incorrect - per the OB/GYN. I attempted to resolve this matter by speaking with several individuals at this office. Each time I'd been advised that my… wife's file was on the doctor's desk. Dr. Jeffers attempted to call me back exactly once, and never returned any further calls. I additionally sent email to the office asking for the situation to be made right and received no response. Dr. Jeffers is incompetent when it comes to nursing women and provided advice so ludicrously incorrect as to be harmful. I strongly urge you to look for another urgent care provider if you are pregnant/nursing, or if you value customer service.
