This doctor had broken the Hippocratic oath. I received a referral to be seen for breathing difficulties in a highly urgent scenario. I had already been to the ER twice and they had run a respiratory panel that included Covid 19 which all came back negative. The docs all said I need to see a pulmonologist urgently. This clinic called and said I could come in today but only if I provided another negative pcr test result today. When I logically I explained that wasn’t reasonable given that pcr tests take at least a day or two she did not care. I then gave the phone to my husband because her lack of empathy and care was negatively impacting my vitals and he asked the very rude and illogical lady who clearly does not care about patients at all what her recommendation was for getting a pcr test and the results in a couple of hours, she had none. Rather than helping she made the childish and illogical statement of “well I then I will document that you are refusing this appt” which I clearly… was not. So she chose to make a false and illegal documentation. She refused to provide her name, refused to listen to reason and hung up the phone. This is why people say American healthcare is not great. People like this destroy patients rather than help them and they happily collect a paycheck while doing it. The doctors and director of this practice need to fire her if they care even 1% for their patients. Stop protecting bad hires because in the end you are also responsible for them and their mistakes. I even called back to file a complaint and the manager, Giovanna, wouldn’t talk to me today. They said she would call and it’s been a month, no call. The lady that answered, which very well might have been the same lady as her voice sounded the same, but potentially pretended to be someone else, refuses to answer how I could get a pcr test the same day. Now let’s see if they continue to act childish as a response to this negative review, if they respond at all. A defensive responsive will indicate their guilt and unprofessional desire to protect their reputation at all costs, which includes lying and feigning their superiority. The lady that called me should not be working in any aspect of healthcare and should really see a therapist for her narcissistic personality disorder. She is clearly not growing as a person and is not being held responsible for her actions. Shame on her and whoever hired her and/or protects her bad behavior. Patients can get frustrated especially when they are being treated poorly. Healthcare workers acting defensively in the face of that frustration are unprofessional. A good doctor once told me “a patient can get frustrated, but it’s the doctors responsibility not to get defensive and frustrated back but to be empathetic and to listen.” This clinic lacks the mentality of good healthcare workers.
