Dr. William Frank Baker, MD

I started seeing Dr. Baker when I was 19 years old (I am now 44) so I've been seeing him for a LONG time! Dr. Baker, in my opinion, has a great sense of humor and makes it easy to talk about what are sometimes embarrassing issues. True, he will give his opinion on whether or not you need to work on your weight (what doctors don't??) but he is a wonderful doctor. He gives you time to ask any questions you may have and will in turn take the time to answer them. I never had any children but I've always felt it would be quite an experience to have Dr. Baker deliver my baby. Personally, I find him hilarious. I'd recommend him to anyone :)

I have had 3 good experiences with Dr. Baker and 3 terrible ones. I went to him when I was having real trouble with bleeding and he was good. Took at least 3 tries 3 months apart to find the right therapeutic option, and he was very good with me during this. For routine followup... I have come away feeling degraded and very offended. Heaven forbid you gain any weight between appointments. In one appointment, he brought it up at least 4 times, all of which were rude and judgmental, not actual concern or something that might motivate me to do something about my weight gain. I came for a pap smear, not to be humiliated... It's not like I am unaware of my weight. He is rough with his exams and does NOT warn you before doing things. Anyway... clinically, he did help me out with some difficult situations, Personally, if he is rude again, I will never go back. I'm going to give him one more chance.

Though I ALWAYS have to wait a long time to see him, it is worth it. He's an excellent doctor - very thorough. Would definitely recommend.

Some friends rave about how wonderful he is. He's been pretty rude to me several times. only cares about whether you've gained 5 pounds or lost weight, not the rest of your health. However, when I was having problems with bleeding 3+ weeks per month, he was very caring and helpful. Other than that, he's been pretty jerky to me and doesn't listen. also have to wait at least 2-3 months to get an open appt.
