We love Dr. Balistreri. Our primary doctor sent us to Dr. Balistreri and we couldn't be happier. He is great with our son.

Dr. B is simply the best doctor ever. Knows everything, knows when to relax on results and wait and see and when to get directly involved. Works with you even if you're extensively out of town. And for those non doctors out there, he has written most of the chapters of the pediatric gastroenterology encyclopedia that all the other doctors use. If you are lucky enough to get Dr. B, you have won the lottery for the best patient care available.

Our daughter was referred to Dr. Balestreri by her primary care physician, but we were completely unimpressed. Our appointment was at 3:45 PM - we were actually SEEN at 5:20PM. Also, we felt the service received was cursory at best. Finally, Children's Hospital billing charged us for the highest level of office consult, even though the doctor and his assistants only spent a few moments with us. (We were billed $650 for 15-20 minutes of attention!) The billing is a nightmare I'm still trying to clean up with Children's Hospital. In addition, after all of this, my daughter's primary care physician is having trouble getting the records from this visit. So, they didn't even forward the information as they said they would, even when repeatedly requested. So, in summary: Inconsiderate wait times, cursory care, potentially fraudulant billing, and lack of communication with the primary care provider. Find another pediatric GI specaialist if you can - it's not worth the headache.
