Dr. William Philip Barba, MD

This doctor is rude and unprofessional. After telling him the problems we were having he laughed at me. So CHOP will no longer be treating any of our four children. If you want to promote everything that is wrong with our current healthcare system, then you should use this group of doctors. They wont be treating my kids any longer.

This doctor is arrogant, rude and condescending. He failed to diagnose my growth problem when I was a patient, and I am now a 5'5" midget because of it. His "bedside manner" is terrible. This practice is also filled with unprofessional people. The staff treat you like a number and not as a person. I wouldn't take my dog to a place like this, let alone a child.

Dr. Barba was my doctor up until I left for college. He was very thorough and caring. My last physical with him before college he noticed some unexplained weight loss and continuously called to follow up on me even into the college months. It was nice to know he was concerned

Dr. Barba is a very capable doctor. However, his bedside manner is deplorable. He is condescending, rude, and arrogant. He interrupts, cuts you off, or generally dismisses what is being said. At first I thought it was just me being hypersensitive, but my son noticed this behavior at a checkup and commented to me on it. It seems to be worse if you are a woman, because he has treated my husband and son slightly better. Every request is treated as an imposition and any question as an annoyance. I understand there are many patients to be seen and limited time for each, but each patient and their parent deserves respect and to be treated with a modicum of kindness. Just being a good doctor is not enough. Dr. Barba needs to get a crash course on courtesy.
