This doctor performed a partial joint replacement instead of doing regular bunion surgery. At a later date I was told most doctors will not perform this surgery because it fails too often. That’s what happened to me which created a hammer toe. That joint had to be fused. The toe never laid down right making it uncomfortable especially wearing shoes. Several years later, my body rejected the metal and it all had to be removed. At the time the new doctor gave me the option of amputating the toe. I chose not to but now wish I had. My foot is disfigured and I now walk with a limp and constant pain. I remember asking Dr Barrett if I would ever be able to wear heals again and he assured me I would. Now I can’t wear any open toe shoes and am very limited in all footwear I can wear. I had to pay out of pocket to have the metal removed in the amount of $18,000. This guy benefited by disfiguring me and I’ve suffered both through quality of life and financially.
