Dr. William R Bartley, MD

There is definitely a problem with getting lab results, x-ray results, and in general, paperwork: If you get a lab test, the nurse in the lab area will advise you that the results will be ready the next day. When making the phone call back the next day to the doctor's office to find out what the lab test results were/are, office personnel answering the phone will act as though they have been castrated, or else in the middle-of-a castration process. While unfinished procedures such as this do not visibly seem important, it definitely reflects on the progress the doctor is trying to make and upon the welfare of the patient. It seems ludicrous that patients are extremely short-changed when it comes to the above when considering the rest of the entire Alton Multi-Specialists building is set-up for convenience typical to that of a Super Walmart, that is, nice rest rooms, a Physical Therapy department, an individual area where the patient signs in and shows their insurance… information. Yet there is this constant foul-up and unnecessary wait with lab results, the proper prescriptions being written out and the communicative process from one party to another. I have been told by my mail order pharmacy that they have tried to contact the doctor's office for relevant questions about prescription orders, etcetera, only to not have their phone call returned. As I am to understand, mail order pharmacists are only allowed to make two calls to a doctor's office and after that, the patient is in Limbo as to what is going on, in addition to when and if, he will receive his medicine. On several occasions, I have observed that at least two of the nurses who work in Dr. Bartley's office handed me hap-hazard and incomplete paperwork which caused me much time and aggravation to straighten out. Dr. Bartley is very friendly, personable, and I feel that he is quite competent but both he and the patient are seriously hindered by the actions cited herein
