Dr. William Barton

It takes special training to be an orthodontist. Upon graduating from Kent State University, Dr. Barton was accepted at St. Louis University Dental School, where he received his Doctor of Dental Science degree in 1965. He established a general dentistry practice for several years before returning to study orthodontics for an additional two years. He graduated from Ohio State University in 1976 with an MS advanced degree in orthodontics. He has researched Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (commonly known as TMJ or jaw joint disorder). And through various study clubs and many hours of Postgraduate seminars has stayed on the technological edge of orthodontic modalities that best serve his patients.
Dr. Barton has been a full-time crown and bridge instructor, a lecturer and researcher, and has published several papers. He is past president of the San Diego Dental Society and has been appointed to membership on several state committees.
Dr. Barton presently is the past President of the …California Association of Orthodontists and Chairman of the San Diego County Dental Society Peer Review Committee for Orthodontics.
Dr. Barton and his wife Lois have been married 43 years and have a daughter, Angela, in Pasadena, son, Skip, in Portland, Oregon and a son, Adam in Del Mar.
Dr. Barton is a past director of the Board of Directors for the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists and General Chairman of the PCSO meeting in Hawaii.
He is also a member of several Research Study Clubs for the advancement of clinical orthodontics.
Just as important, each of our highly skilled well-trained assistants are certified and licensed by the state of California. All procedures they perform are under the direct supervision of Dr. Barton.
