Horrible access to care. I had a referral from the VA, waited a week and called to schedule an appointment. I was told the referral had to be reviewed because it was for Electrophysiology and I would receive a call when approved. Never received a call..... I called back 2 weeks later and was told first they didn't have a referral. Then told again it was under review and then told it would be 4 weeks until a decision was made. I asked, if I was to make an appointment today, when is the next available appointment with Electrophysiology. I was told my appointment would be the end of July. It is now June 10th. Therefore, between the referral review time of 4 weeks and the next available appointment being over 4 weeks out. It would be about 3 months until I could even have an initial appointment at Lexington Cardiology. This is horrible access to care. I wish I could rate the care received from the doctors, but seeing as how I will never see a doctor I cannot. This is completely… unacceptable. Do better. I will be seeing a different practice. I am sure you have fantastic physicians working at Lexington Cardiology, but this means nothing if there is no access to see them. Now, I have to start the whole process over again at a new practice. While in the meantime, I am still having episodes of tachycardia (SVTs) and my heart rate is dropping into the 30's (bradycardia) on many occasions. Lexington cardiology could care less. Sir, If happen to see this review and you would like to reach out to me and resolve this, I would be happy to change my review as I have never met you. I am sure you are a fantastic physician. I was referred to Dr. Brabham through the Cardiology wing at Lexington Medical Center for Premature Ventricular Contractions. My wife accompanied me to the appointment and we had a long list of questions and concerns. Mostly concerns. We actually live an hour away. He answered our questions before we could even ask them. He was direct, concise and more importantly reassuring. I found his bed side manners the best I've come across in my 57 years. My condition was a borderline type of situation and he stated that he would rather not perform a procedure unless he felt strongly about its necessity. He spent as much time with us as we needed. He educated us leaving us with a great understanding and a path forward. We found him highly professional. We are lucky to have him in our area and I strongly recommend him. He is a tribute to his profession.

Dr Brabham is a young, aspiring cardiologist that may well mature into a well-known doctor; however, there are some areas that he must pay attention to: the doctor did an ablation on me on 18 Jul 13. For all intents and purposes the procedure went well as expected. The difficulty that I have with the good doctor is that as soon as the procedure was over he departed the area for Charleston, SC for two weeks. Which meant that he would not be present the next AM to coordinate my discharge. Dr. B. was observed on the phone with his backup who was supposed to act in his stead the next AM. All well and good EXCEPT the replacement doctor forgot about me until a nurse placed a call reminding him about me. Dr. Brabham failed to complete the "loop" by being unavailable the next day. I don't quite know what to think of Dr. B. now...he may be very competent however I have a strong feeling that that was not the way to endear himself to his patient. I feel he was there simply for the $$.
