My elderly aunt was in stony brook hospital with a fractured spine . This man was her Dr when we asked to Speak to him about her care and diagnosis he refused to even come to her room it is amazing how rudely she was treated by a doctor who will now no doubt bill her insurance for care of a patient he never even put his eyes on

I recently had a condition involving a very aggressive pre-cancer situation in my uterus and had to make some big decisions regarding different treatment options. There were many unknown factors in the equation and I did my due diligence in trying to secure 3 - 4 different doctor opinions in order to know how to best proceed. It has been a very scary time and whenever there is a possibility that you are told the cancer could already be in your uterus (but you won't know till it is taken out), it is quite unsettling to say the least. I had seen 2 doctors already in the NYC area and Dr. Burke was my 3rd opinion. I must admit that I am a very tough critic when it comes to doctors and I was beyond impressed with Dr. Burke's approach as to how to handle the situation in his delivery of what he recommended and how the procedure should be performed. He sat with me for a good amount of time to explain everything that was going on with my situation and truly helped put my mind at ease.… Whatever the outcome may have been, I at least felt confident that I was in the best hands possible. My hysterectomy was successfully performed and I was cancer free and he was able to leave my ovaries in place. He did a phenomenal job and I will be eternally grateful to him. I would highly recommend Dr. Burke for ANY situation related to gyno oncology - - from what I've seen out there, I don't think they come any better than him.

Dr. Burke is the patient-specific gynecologist that I highly recommend. Out of so many physicians that I had ever visited he was the only one that had offered the most a appropriate tests and the surgery that was acceptable to me - myomectomy. All others were offering to remove the uterus, which is hysterectomy that was absolutely a very drastic step for me.

I consider Dr.Burke the finest doctor that I have ever been to. He knew exactly what to do for me and treated me in a way that I had the utmost confidence in him. I am now healthy do to his care.

I am just beginning my journey on a cancer trip I don't want to take. Dr Burke, his PA Jo, and his office staff have already put me at ease, and instilled confidence that I chose doctors wisely.

I was this doctors patient when his practice was in Ann Arbor MI, he had a wonderful bedside manner, a good way of making sure I handled ovarian cancer with as little fear as possible, and even when I entered stage iv it was his manner that kept me hopeful and even when I didn't have time to try to have a baby he told me that by rights I could try but he was as gentle and sincere in telling me that in his opinion it may not work in time and putting off any treatment wouldn't be wise. He was there when the surprise of all surprises happened and when he thought it couldn't happen I was suddenly cancer free. Thank you Dr. Burke, I missed you when you left Ann Arbor and I am still cancer free.

Office is clean, appts are easy to make, he is friendly. However, got an off feeling from one of the young nurses there while I was examined. She actually made a disgusted face which made me feel quite uncomfortable. On several occasions his np had a bit of an attitude. She didn't follow up and after being tracked down again had a bit of an attitude almost like she felt she was a doctor. I wish they took things a bit more serious. He seems knowledgeable but doesn't like to be questioned. People pay for a doctor and want to deal with a doctor, not a np.

I would highly recommend Dr. Burke. He spends time with you and puts you at ease. He is thorough, professional, caring, patient and kind. I can't say enough wonderful things about him. He's one of a kind! JoAnne, his nurse practitioner is also outstanding, as is his staff.
