I have an hsa account and have to pay a lot of money as it is to see doctors before my deductible is met so I try to be careful when paying out of pocket. The day I saw the doctor I had already seen another ENT doctor and did an audio test because he needed it before I would see him. I waited for about 30 min to eventually have him look in my ear to say he saw a hair, trimmed it, and tell me if my ear still bothers me to come back in 6 months. I was with him for under 10 minutes. My problem was a pressure in the middle ear and I obviously still had the problem After his quick visit. When I received my bill I was shocked to see it was $550. The office visit of $200 and something was not the problem it was the charge of extraction of a foreign object for $240 that shocked me. I would think that a doctor should tell you ahead of time if they are going to charge that much for trimming a hair. And when is a hair a foreign object? I think they have everything labeled under one category and… that’s how they rip people off. I wouldn’t normally leave a review, especially a bad one if I wasn’t really upset. I appealed this decision and lost to a board of doctors and appealed to another group that scripps also has and lost that as well. I didn’t even get a letter back the second time so they ended sending me to collections. I paid it in full today but this is wrong morally and ethically and the doctor had to know about it by know so I have given him every benefit of the doubt. My advice is if the good doctor looks in your ear and says he sees a hair tell him to leave it and buy ear trimmers for $40 because he will get everyone on this.

Best Doctor ever with tough cases and Scripps forced him to retire. Age discrimination Wish i knew where he went.
