Dr. William John Catalona, MD

I worked as an EMT at a hospital back in the 70s. Often times on weekends I was fortunate enough to work alongside Dr. Catalina. Even way back then I knew Dr. Catalona would be destined for great ventures in his career. He was tremendously personal and professional with the patients and with those of us fortunate enough to work with him, he always taught us new and innovative techniques that would serve us throughout our own careers. He actually worked with the maintenance staff and developed that hospital with it’s very first defibrillator. A truly outstanding and amazing individual.

Dr. Catalona is wonderful doctor and the most humble with respectful manner and caring professional with great experience in his field, good listener, very patient, take his time to answer all my questions clearly and I always feel like he really cares about me and not just a patient. He always explains everything extremely well to me and my son in all our visits and make us feel all the time comfortable and happy. I do not have enough words to express my high regards and appreciations to him. Finaly,5 stars is not enough.

Had Dr. Catalona for prostate surgery. Everything went just as he said. No surprises Everything on time very little pain

Great urologist and surgeon. It's been Nine months after having prostate cancer surgery in Chicago and doing excellent. Still working on some post surgical complications but wouldn't change my decision on having my radical nerve sparing surgery. I'm alive.

Not very friendly, but a very skilled doctor. Kind of mechanical in his demeanor with regards to cancer patients who have been traumatized emotionally with this disease

Dr. Catalona removed my Prostate in 1999 without any long term after effects. Doctor Catalona, thouroughly explained all of the possible treatments, stressing the prostate removal as the best of all. Too many of my friends , who opted for alternative therapies, have regretted that decision. Almost without exception, the cancer returned, and in 2 cases where radiation was used, bladder cancer was the result.Dr. Catalona is the best in the World and the foremost expert in this field.

My surgery was about 5 years ago.Before surgery he spent lots of time with my wife and me to explain every possible treatment. After his review of possibilities I told him to "just take it out" and I have been happy with that decision ever since.I have a blood test twice a year and see Dr. Catalona once a year for follow up. From the very beginning I signed up to be a part of his genetic research.I had the nerve sparing surgery and have had zero problems in fact, all the problems I had went away.Recovery from surgery was fast.I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Catalona. I'm very thankful to have him as my Urologist and I tell him that at every visit.By the way I am not related to Dr. Catalona in any way and have no contact with him other than once a year at the appointment.
