i like another patient's review i read thought my visit was a complete waste of time. then his staff didnt even bother telling me their office had moved. (then first impression of his office was dirty and dingy and had serious doubts about surgery as an option for my particular back problems) (and i am typing this review standing at my kitchen counter because i'm afraid to sit down and do it i won't be able to get back up.) first i spent a great deal of time answering questions about family that i havent had any contact with for over 30yrs. and he wanted to know from me the exact year of all these relatives and THEIR problems that i dont have a clue of because i either never knew that or dont have any contact with! i thought i was there for me and my problems. he could not find the exray i had of my back in his records so from then on he had this slight grin on his face like he didnt believe a word i was telling him . during his rambling about everybody else's medical history when… he finally did get around to asking me a question when i tried in the least to elaborate just a little he dismissed me and continued on with his very indept questioning of my distant and never seen before relatives! then his exam what just as inadequate as his questions. i put a gown on over my shirt and took off my pants and shoes. he went over my body so fast with his hands i felt more like i was being frisked! i was also flopping around on the exam table like a fish out of water. then his suggestions for my pain that has been to me worse than labar pains times 10 was 1. i could have pt but not highly suggested 2. have a second exray ( and that i felt would only benefit himself cause he couldnt find the first one) and 3.and this is the one he recommended the very most (and this one he offered with a very distinct grin on his face) come in as needed . like my title indicates i would rather see my cat's vet next time then ever go thru that again!!

Staff was nice other than that it was a hugh waste of time after I had waited for 3 weeks for the appt. and 3 hours of hearing the samething the referring dr. Told me I literally walked out I was so frustrated. I've had chronic back pain for 8yrs had been diagnosed for chronic left sciaticia which I had my nerve conduction test results with me and diagnosed with spinal sinosis and lumbago which I had the MRI results that showed that with me also. So after about a hour and a half of the same 100 questions and getting poked with a broken little wooden Cotton swab I got prescribed gabapentin which I've been prescribed 100 times and never works and also PT which I absolutely don't need and absolutely nothing for my pain unbeleavable. My last dr. Told me he couldn't believe I had been able to deal with the pain as long as I had and I had better be looking for a office job. So I'd highly recommend not scheduling a appt. with dr. Chang unless u need a recap of what u already know. Btw forgot… to mention I had to call to remind the staff about even making me appt. they never called me. And no follow up. ð???ð??»

Dr Chang is very personable, respectful, and he makes sure you understand everything. He takes his time with you to get to the problem.

Dr. Chang is very personable, caring and thorough. My first appointment was longer than I expected because of Dr. Chang's thorough exam, which pleased me. Sometimes I don't care for physicians I've seen for the first time, but not so with Dr. Chang. He listens and takes many notes. Overall, I was and am extremely satisfied with Dr. Chang and his staff.

The staff and facility were great. However, I left feeling more despondent and confused than I had been when I walked into the office. I had x-rays that showed mild scoliosis and hyperlordosis that I thought were the cause of my 8 year long struggle with chronic pain. After looking over my records and doing the examination, he decided he couldn't determine a cause for my pain. He thought it might be fibro or an autoimmune disease, but I only fit the profile about 50%. So he told me he was going to prescribe me a pain medicine, since I wake up at night from the pain. However, if I take a medication with drowsiness listed as a side-effect, I tend to have trouble getting out of bed. He also prescribed me Cymbalta, as it is approved for treatment of fibro and back pain. I asked if he knew if it would be expensive, and he said he didn't know since there isn't a generic alternative. So I asked if I could call back if I couldn't afford it, but he laughed and told me I had no… other options. Well, turns out it would be $466/month for the lowest dosage. He referred me to the Genesis PT, despite not knowing what's wrong. Why not run some more tests and hopefully find out some more results? In the past, physical therapists have wanted me to come in 3 times a week, and I can't afford $90 a week in PT copays without knowing that it should bring about some results. So I sat in my car crying for awhile, before deciding to find a new spine specialist who at least instills some confidence in my.

The office staff was great - nice and helpful. Dr. Chang, in my opinion was very condescending towards my neurologists findings, questioned my pain level - compared my symptoms and pain to his and said that mine were minor compared to his. When he ran the same test my neurologist ran and "found" different results - he got smug and told me well, you don't have this - how do you feel? He didn't even tell me what he suspected or anything. I got up and walked out of his office. Maybe it's cultural differences - I don't know - but he did not share his thoughts with me on what he found. I called the next day and withdrew from his practice - cancelled the pain management appointment that was to be in his office - cancelled the PT as well. I truly did not see the point in re running a test that had showed what the problem was, I felt it was extremely unprofessional his attitude towards my neurologist and towards me.
