Dr. Collier finds it appropriate to eat his food while interviewing a patient in the Emergency Department. At one point I could smell his food on his breath, since he began to speak just after finish chewing and swallowing the food. Very disgusting! He is older, and his practices are unorthodox. His bedside manners are lacking in multiple categories. After introducing myself to him as a clinician and colleague, he essentially ignored me and despite the information I had to share, he dismissed me and spoke over me to give his impression of what the diagnosis was. Ultimately, I had to return to the ED, see a new provider to accomplish what he could not. After nearly 30 years of practice, it's probably about time he retire and hang his medical shingle up. Just because he can still walk, talk, breathe and converse with his staff doesn't mean his medicine is modern and complies with the standards in modern literature. For instance, with my resolving bronchitis that left me with a… persistent cough, he gave me a Prednisone oral Steroid taper for over 10 days, when this medication is shown to weaken the immune system and lead to the risk of pneumonia, worsens anxiety / agitation, suppress the adrenal glands, as well as a host of other issues that could potentially arise. Instead, a simple inhaler is all I needed. Lastly, he did not discuss his diagnosis with me or convey his treatment plan. I would not allow him to be my Physician, nor would I recommend him to family or friends.
