Dr. William Michael Crecelius, MD

Dr Crecelius did not take mothers concerns of child's health care issue ,which prolonged him from getting the proper care needed.

My kids have had Dr. Crecelius for 15 years. They love him. He is always kind and takes the time to make them feel comfortable. He talks to them and you can tell that he cares. He has always been on top of any issue that has come up with them.

Miss diagnosed twice!

We had a horrible experience with Dr. Crecelius when we were sent to him for removal of my 3 year old son's stitches from his lip. Afterward, I called and issued a formal complaint and then tried to let it go, but now, almost a year later, a colleague of mine happened to tell me about an awful experience with a pediatrician who got frustrated with her son and slammed his leg down on the examining table. When I asked who and she answered Dr. Crecelius, I was beside myself with anger and disbelief yet again. So, I feel I must get my story out so that others can avoid subjecting their children to this doctor who should NOT be working with children. When we arrived in Dr. Crecelius's office, our son was obviously scared from the beginning - new doctor on top of the fear of pain of stitch removal - and he didn't even say hi to him or introduce himself. But that's the least of the problem. When he started removing the stitches, he had trouble getting it out (all the while my son, who didn't… cry at all when the stitches we're put in! is crying in terror and my husband and I are having to hold him down - and Crecelius says NOTHING to him to try to reassure him) and when he finally did get the first stitch out, the wound opened up and started bleeding. Concerned, I asked if that was supposed to happen and he didn't answer me, but started going on to the next stitch and started having the more trouble with that one at which point I asked, shouldn't you stop?! He still didn't answer. Then the next thing we know, he stops and leaves the room without explanation. When he comes back, we ask what's wrong and again, is it ok that the wound is open and bleeding and should we stop and not remove the remaining stitches and all he says (over and over) is "I'll do whatever you want me to do." Dumbfounded, we say, "But you're the expert! We don't know anything about this." To which he replies again, "I'll do whatever you want me to do." Well, we weren't about to let him continue to traumatize our son, so I called the doctor who originally stitched him up (we were on a weekend camping trip out of town when the accident happened, so doctor was out of town, but he had assured us that ANYONE could easily remove the stitches so there was no need for us to travel back there for removal) and he had to tell Crecelius to put a butterfly bandage on wound. We then ended up traveling back to original doctor to have other stitches removed. Throughout the whole visit, Crecelius exhibited no kindness, bedside manner or anything of the kind. Not to mention his incompetence at his profession. Now that I know we're not the only ones, I'm getting the word out in any way I can in hopes that others can avoid subjecting their children to a potential traumatic experience. I wish I had known about it ahead of time...

Our children became patients of Dr. Crecelius 2.5 years ago upon the retirement of our former pediatrician. At first I was a little worried because our previous pediatrician was so wonderful to our children & family; I didn't know if another doc would measure up. Dr. Crecelius is very kind to all of our children and is thorough at each visit. Two of our kids are very shy and he still takes the time with them that is needed. Our infant has had a few health challenges over the last few months, causing us to need multiple visits, and he has always been very attentive to her and to my concerns. When we have a question that I call in, he is prompt to respond to his nurse who then returns my calls in a timely manner. He is also a family man, which helps us feel we have some common ground with him as fellow parents. We are so happy having him as our children's doctor, & wouldn't go anywhere else!

I worked really hard to be able to get my daughter as one of Dr. Crecelius's patients. Up until the few days before I had her I would call and check his openings and finally one day he had some! I am very happy with my choice and I feel that he takes great pride in what he does. I also feel like he is very kind and will spend as much time with you, during a visit, as needed. He never makes me feel like he is in a hurry or that I am rushed out of there. His bed side manner is great, he is very personable.:] I would recommend him to anyone!
